I cant believe not one town voted no. it is the wrong choice, we have one more chance in October. I wish people would research this more, for the people just trying to save a 1.00 please consider what this will be like for the kids, the town. remington is chaos when it gets out, imagine them and school at the same time. The money will be gone in a few short years, they are already thinking way to big, and then we will be in the same spot. budgeting needs to be improved not a merger. they sd better education? nope, it will be the same old teachers that have been there , i bet there will be numerous fights, teachers and coaches will "favor their kids" bus rides will be up to an hour long each way, i believe more. parking? not enuff room. classrooms stuffed w kids, less one on one time if needed. they will use scare tactics to get u to vote yes. dont believe it!

Hello.. You where sold a line of BS. Th state monies are a one shot deal. After those funds are gone. It is the local taxpaers problem. And do not give me that line about the kids. Just more BS to give nice icreases to the administrators and teachers. Larger class sizes and higher transport costs. Kids and the taxpayer is going to get it right in the rear.

My kids came home tonight and brought up the topic. They were upset because this was all that was talked about today in school. "Why don't us kids get to vote in this? It is our lives that are affected". That's what they said the kids in school were saying. I personally am against the merging of the three schools, but I haven't shared that with my kids. All I could tell them was that if this goes through, hopefully the people given the tasks of making it a success, will work very, very hard to make this a better experience for them. They like their small school and the atmosphere that goes with it. I don't blame them. I do too. That's why I bought a house here. I really, truly hope the people that are so supportive of this and pushing so hard for this take as much an interest in things when it is time to do the hard work, make sure our kids don't feel lost in a crowd, get at least as good an education as they are now, and walk across a stage with a diploma ready for their futures.

While they may be in a different building their teachers will be there to give them a sense of home and that will go both ways. The teachers will feel the same way. Nice post... |
