Un-FrickinBelieveable!!!! Nothin' but a big crock of BULLSHIT!!! Looked through the windows yesterday and the inside is still a mess and looks exactly the way it did six months ago!! WTF, it's not like Winters has to wait for a liquor license from Albany.

Will this place EVER OPEN??? I too went down there today and looked through the windows. NOT ONE piece of equipment in there; not ONE table or chair! Nothing but walls and electrical outlet hangin down from the walls. I guess the joke is on all of us Herkimer residents as Winters squanders the money he has received from the IDA and the $$$ the village "loaned" him. Kiss that money goodbye.

Will we hold anyone accountable for this travesty? Or will the good old boys just laugh it off, as usual?

Why you jackasses are so butthurt about a burrito place not opening. Do you not have jobs and fulfilling lives?

And may I add, I find the burrito place not opening quite disappointing because I have nothing better to do with myself than to eat out at fast food places.

Can you say.... chacha ching. Cash is gone. Spent already. Never going to see it open. That is the way it is. Just like hotel utica. They got all that money and took 1 mil from the top and put it in their pocket. Big pay day.

Face it the town of Herkimer paid for a thirty thousand dollar burrito that never got delivered. Nor will it ever be. Just chalk it up as corruption that exist everywhere today. Rome is burning!

It was through the Microenterprise Loan Program which is a grant and has to be paid back for the IDA portion.

Like someone previously said, if that Griffith guy is involved it's a loosing proposition. Maybe he's in on the scam. He took people's money up in Utica. Now he gives other people's money away in Herkimer.

Like others have said. Why the ejaculatory soiling about Mexican food? Can't you just steal raw dough from your same sex partner?

if Burrito Pimp John Winter didn't suck $30,000 out of the public teat people wouldn care so much whether or not a burrito shop opened on Main St
the fact is the IDA and Herkimer village loan funds have finite resources and need to choose their investments wisely.
when you give $30,000 to a blowhard clown like Winter the Burrito Pimp and he fails to meet his contractual obligations as far as stimulating economic development (such as it is what with a couple of minimum wage jobs and some incremental tax revenue) then yes people have ejaculatory soiling regarding Mexican food.
Kabeesh?
key word there is LOAN funds. Meaning he is obligated to pay it all back. BTW it is not "kabeesh" It is "capisce" and it is an Italian verb.

Perhaps one might look in the mirror at what a blowhard really looks like....

Whether or not he pays it back is not germane to the fact that those funds are no longer available to support other small businesses. time is money. the burrito joint was supposed to have been open June 2012 -- that's what he told the IDA.
Kabeesh?
Except for the fact that he only got funding from the Village of Herkimer, not the County IDA. It has not opened as yet because funds were not transferred to the owners until recently and we've had a tad of weather issues to boot.

really who cares? the lowlife welfarians do not deserve another place to destroy and slum up. the guy has to be crazy to even think about moving to this dead beat city. main street is dead and some crummy taco joint will not help anything. it has long been abandoned and it will remain so. new york has and continues to be a dying place, been so since ww2. throw some more taxes on every one that works, build up the " entitlement" roles some more. you owe me.
until the local and state government start to care about the people who work and live here , not much will change. add some more surcharges and fees. make it a great place to do business here. because of policys in place and a general screw the workers and tax them stupid no new businesses will show up and the ones left will continue to leave the state.
so who cares about some crummy burrito joint? not even a blip on the give a shit meter.

Wrong, he received $15K from the village and $15K from the IDA for a total of $30K in public funds. You can look it up.

aren't you mature enough not to show your jealousy in public? Apparently not. You mad that they don't loan you money for your lemonade stand that went bankrupt? Lou Sir!
