You people are all ignorant! Know your facts before you start bashing people you don't know. I personally know the owner of the horses and he was devastated. The one horse he had for over 20 years. He loved the horses more than his own family. He took very good care of the animals, and was only boarding them. It was the owner of the barns fault for the fire. And as for the burial of the horses it was done right away. you try to bury a 500 pound animal. pretty hard to do.

So yet another barn fire? Seems like way too many coming from the same area and family. What is going on over there?

Yes you should. Im was a 6 year volly on LI. So being a volly has nothing to do with investigating a crime. Im sure Middleville has a fine volunteer crew. I watched them put the fire out. If it is left up to the chief of a volunteer FD to decide is it is arson then I must say. No volunteer cheif has the training to decide if that fire was arson or not. Also any fire where there is loss of life being human or animal should be investigated by a trained arson investigator. Is your cheif a trained arson investigator?
Why they leave it up to him to decide if it needs investigating. Puzzles me.
Any suspicious fires that occurs in Herkimer and Oneida County are investigated by the joint county Arson Task Force. It doesn't matter if the structure was insured or not. The Task Force investigates. They have authority over the local volunteer chief. You are so correct with your assessment of local volunteer chiefs having the skills to investigate a fire. Too many of the local volunteer chiefs think they have the experience to do a lot that they have business being involved with.

He absoloutely, without a doubt, burned it to collect insurance money. He has had 6 or 7 significant claims on his policy in the last decade.
In 2004, his house mysteriously ended up on fire, too. The insurance check was enough to do repairs, and remodel the entire home.
In 2010, the barn on Parkhurst Road burned to the ground.
In the spring of 2012, the barn on Hardscrabble Road was on fire. The fire dept was called soon enough and the building was extinguished. This obviously put a damper on his plans. The barn was completely destroyed during their second attempt this summer.
He over-filled his silo a few years ago. It collapsed, and he was able to collect money on that as well.
To clairify: This particular Murphy has no wind turbines. His brother, who also owns a dairy farm located on Hardscrabble Road, has one turbine on his land. They are less than a mile from eachother. DO NOT confuse the two. One works very hard for everything he has, and treats his animals in a respectful manner. The other, obviously does not.

Daily Horoscope for June 19

Capricorn

You're feeling slightly unconventional and you're looking for activities that will reflect your mood. You certainly won't be very keen on doing things that are drearily predictable or boring, although you'll grit your teeth and get on with them if you have no choice. But ideally you should do things on the spur of the moment, preferably in the company of people who make you feel alive and alert.
