I know some doctors, lawyers and even members of law enforcement who regularly smoke a joint or two. Diminished collective intelligence? Maybe for you, who cannot handle it.

Oh really, how?
I already said, except in certain medical applications.
My original post didnt articulate my position? Stoner or not, you are pretty dense. LEARN TO READ AND PAY ATTENTION:
Fact: Prolonged marijuana use diminishes one's intelligence.
Why a government thinks it would be a good idea to sanction use of a substance that over time would "dumb down" the population is beyond me.
Dumbing down an already pretty dumb population reduces this nation's position in a highly competitive global environment in which we already lag behind in education and trade.
Habitual marijuana use saps one's motivation and reduces one's mental capacity, and it's easy to see how that translates into fewer college graduates and more slugs on the welfare tit. Not next year. Over a period of years.
Furthermore, legalization communicates to children that marijuana use is OK, such that five years after legalization you have significantly more tokers than you otherwise would.
The pro-pot arguments of "but drinking and tobacco are so much more dangerous" is just so much blah blah blah. They are dangerous, yes, in a different way.
Just because society already sanctions the use of some dangerous substances is no justification to sanction the use of another dangerous substance.
Alas, we seem to be on a slippery slope to widespread marijuana legalization, and if it comes to pass it will be to the profound detriment of this great nation.

The context of why and for what reasons people drink, you don't think that is of any parallel to why and for what reasons people smoke pot? The historical information provided from alcohol prohibition is of no value, in terms of other prohibitions? Really?
Yet, legalization of alcohol tells minors its ok to drink. Right? Legalization of cigarettes tells minors its ok to smoke, right? No, it boils down to parents raising kids to know the pros and cons and to let them grow up and make their own informed choices. Now you are looking for society and the government to be the nanny. Laughable.
You don't think long term alcohol use dumbs down people? Show us these scientific studies showing on how long term pot use dumbs down users. Should be interesting to see what you can find, if you can.
You've provided many obvious cut and pasted sections in your post that clearly you did not compose. Perhaps you should also provide a source of your plagiarized material. The fact that you don't, and your continued use of belittling language clearly shows you cannot support your position with credible facts. You say fact, in your quotation, yet provide nothing other than the word "fact" to show anything factual.

Copy and pasted plagiarized material. This poster cannot even think for them self nor even cite where said material was taken from. Any and all posts from this person bear no semblance of credibility without first citing source material.

BTW, legalization is not the same as sanctioning its use. Another strawman.

Heh that's not plagiarized material. Why would you even think that?
If it was, it would be readily findable via Google. Go ahead and waste your time trying.
