Joe and his group have decided to replace the Legislators. His district threw him out of office in the last election. What makes him think he's qualified to help others get elected??

Is there are bigger waste of a legislative seat than the one occupied by Steve Keblish's fat butt?

Since taking office this two-faced glad-hander has made it his Job No. 1 to ingratiate himself with the Good Old Boys while doing virtually zero on behalf of the constituents he allegedly represents.

Who voted for the 2% big-wig pay raise, while squealing and moaning on Facebook about how overpaid and over-bennied workforces are killing governments and taxpayers? KEBLISH.

Who sat sucking his thumb while his patron Piseck funnelled $54,000 in political payola to Crony Casale? KEBLISH.

Who made nary a peep of protest at the Neanderthal behavioral of Vinny "Balls in a Vise" Bone-Oh, despite clear public disgust with the incident? KEBLISH.

Chilelli has accomplished more as a gadfly than Keblish has accomplished as a legislator.

Keblish narrowly defeated Chilelli by virtue of his military "halo" and service in Afghanistan and of course being a Republican in a GOP heavy area.

Make no mistake, Chilelli is a sincere and hard-working guy. His Achilles heel was his overzealous harping on the jail issue, which turned a lot of people off. We can expect that Joe has learned his lesson from that misstep and recognizes that politics is often the art of compromise.

Returned to office in November, Chilelli can and will join Helen Rose to function as an outspoken watchdog for taxpayer interests over the corrupt and inept county Legislature.

Steve is very likable but wishy-washy and brown-nosed. Joe is likable but too intense and scary. But we change, and we need choices, so yeah, go Joe go. Trow da bums out!

KEBLISH IS A NEBBISH is Carl Streeter from Ilion, another wack from the "Concerned Citizens " group. He and Chilelli make up their own numbers without checking the facts. These two and Rose are obstuctionist hiding under a cloak of self rightious egotistical banter. Ever notice how they continually spew their propaganda out then always say "I'm sorry afterwords when their figures are proven wrong. They try to discredit everyone with no thought about ramifications of their words.Get it right the first time, idiots!

Actually they are not obstructionists. They are just a minority of Democrats trying to expose the old guard Republicans that have destroyed this county. No cloak, they are upfront and vocal about things. The cloak is worn by a majority of those on the legislature. You know, the ones who want to keep things behind closed doors.

So get organized and create a strong Democrat party in Herkimer County..and by the way, good luck with that.
As a legislator, Joe's mail goal was to stop the jail from going in behind his property. Mission accomplished, he's not running again. He is and always will be just a NIMBY..
Helen is not running again either. She's moving.

Joe was a NIMBY, no disputing that. That's why he was a one-termer. Helen was not a NIMBY. She's tried hard to expose what goes on.

Why is anyone who disagrees with the current legislators a 'wack' or someone out to just obstruct? You'd be surprised how many people aren't happy with the status quo. The thing is, we all need to mobilize. It can be done. Name calling or ridiculing voters who don't think as you do will eventually backfire. Keyword: voters.

Very well put. Those who have been legislators for a long time need to go.

On a side note, I notice the nice perk our part time legislators have. Take home vehicles with "County Legislator" on the license plates. Good knowing the taxpayers are footing the bill for these cars and the gas they use while they are sitting in the drive thru line at First Source, conducting their private banking business with an official vehicle.

I had seen those vanity plates around town. Unless those individuals pay for those plates 100%, that's an expense I as a voter do not want to bear. These individuals are responsible for budgeting our County? I also would rather my tax dollars not pay for health benefits for what amounts to a very, low-key part time job. Come on, voters. Anyone thinking about running?

The benefits and perks they get for a part time job is astonishing, no pun intended. It truly is. And what's even more amusing, they find nothing at all wrong with it. Is there anyone out there with any shame?

Lets say I am a legislator or other public official (elected, appointed or hired). Why should I expect the taxpayers to pay for my car and gas and other expenses for me to commute back and forth to my job? They should not be and I should not be so entitled. Now, if it's travelling that is business related, that is a different story. But typical commuting to and from work, sorry that's a perk which should be eliminated. We do not have the economy where these luxuries can be afforded and the sense of entitlement needs to end.

The only way legislators get paid for gas is by filing vouchers. Chilelli was religious at filing his. Unfortunately getting the taxpayers to pay for his gas wasn't enough. He wanted legislators to get a pay raise too. When they didn't give him one, he figured he wasn't getting paid enough to show up to all the meetings. Not even to approve the budget.

When you saw me at First Source I was driving my own private car (which I paid for myself) with legislator plates (that I paid for myself). You hate-mongers should get a job or find a hobby.

The only problem with that is you cannot get those plates for a personal vehicle. Try again.

Why are those plates necessary? If they are privately purchased, hopefully the funds stay in this County.

Why do you need "legislator" plates? So you can park in handicapped zones? Or are you an egomaniac and think being a legislator makes you a BMOC?

Allow me to suggest an appropriate vanity license plate for you:

Since you know so much about nothing - give the Motor Vehicles Department a call. Have you got a job yet?
