Now that's funny....but seriously, glad they are trying to help more people by introducing new programs, heroin is killing people in this area. Two people died in the Utica area in the last few months according to people at the meetings. It's sad. We all know it is the worst drug to kick. Alcohol was hard enough, been sober 6 years and it is still a struggle some days.....kudos to those willing to help!

Two Beacon workers there were caught smoking a blunt by the abandoned house in back of Yettys. They were seen by the neighbors one of whom recognized them from taking her nephew to Beacon the year before. LOL 4/20 will be tomorrow, guess they will have to find another place to tok up! No police involvement, just chocolate stains in their undies.

I'm not sure if it was reported. A friend of the neighbors told me. I don't think it was nassimos, because she's been gone for awhile. Some one from Richfield told me she is suing Beacon center for defamation or libel I don't know. I think it was a male and a female that were caught.

all employees are drug tested at hire and randomly so if they were (which is laughable) then they will not be working much longer.

Does that partially explain the HIGH turnover rate down there? LOL

No she transferred to the Utica Office a year ago or so. So ... since this is about a Herkimer counselor it wouldn't be about her.

For The past few months the Albert O. Nichols House, 201 King St., Herkimer NY 13350, has been infested with bed bugs. Staff and management have repeatedly failed and refused to take the necessary steps to resolve this issue. New residence do not have to put their clothes through the dryer (a measure that would of greatly reduced the chances of this infestation of ever happening in the first place). Management refuses to hire a reputable exterminator as the price quoted was said to be to high and the measures that would of needed to of been taken would be to much of a hassle. They have had a local exterminator come several times and he doesn't have the house evacuated and only sprays a small amount of insecticide in a few rooms and not the entire house. Management had the exterminator company "Orkin" do an estimate, Orkin wanted to have all clothes in the house washed and dried including all drapes and curtains and have the house evacuated for six hours after being completely sprayed with pesticide. Management insists that the person they have hired (a man believed to be a friend of management) is the best and that Orkin wants to do too much. Management also is not informing new residence coming to the house of this problem. this is illegal
(New York State law 27-2018.1 Notice of bedbug infestation history. a. For housing
accommodations subject to this code, an owner shall furnish to each
tenant signing a vacancy lease, a notice in a form promulgated or
approved by the state division of housing and community renewal that
sets forth the property's bedbug infestation history for the previous
year regarding the premises rented by the tenant and the building in
which the premises are located.)
Staff and managements lack of appropriate and immediate action to rectify this infestation is illegal, negligent and unconscionable.

The Health Dept. inspected and there were NO bedbugs. Why are you doing this? go with the truth and you don't have to remember what story you made up.

Then perhaps YOU should get a job like the people that are paying taxes for you to live there for FREE and you wouldn't have to worry about it! Stop sucking off the taxpayers and get your own apartment and then you can pay your own bills...including the exterminator! People who get things handed to them should have no opinion! Just sayin!

"People who get things handed to them should have no opinion!" Are you serious? Please get a college education, or at least your GED. You obviously assume that people who live in this type of housing enjoyed losing everything they had to their addiction. They did it on purpose, right? People who have no education about a particular subject should have no opinion! Just sayin!

Having been addicted and worked a program in the past I know all too well how hard it is to reclaim your life and move on. You need to start over and rebuild the foundation of your existence. Part of this is getting a job, perhaps an education first, and then become a productive member of society so that you can give back to those who helped you when you needed the assistance. I do believe it is possible, as I am living proof, but not if people continue to enable you by handing out assistance for a long period of time. If you continue to get a handout month after month, it turns into year after year, and then where is the incentive to "make it on your own"? Temporary help is a good thing, but it should not be a permanent lifestyle. This is just my opinion.....

Because Jackie Nicastro and Faith Peterson are so money-hungry that they don't mind treating counselors like crap. All those two see are dollar signs.
