I would have passed. Hell, I wish we had a better facility than Ilion. The fact is we don't.

Does it even matter where the high school is? Yeah maybe to some in Herkimer, it would have made a difference but that shouldn't be a reason to vote either way. Who cares what building the kids go to high school in. There will be the same teachers, classes, etc. regardless of what village it is in. The building is just a shell...it is what happens inside that counts. And we need to fill that shell up with as many opportunities as we can.

It is time for Herkimer to grow up and realize it is over and it is time to move on. Stop living in the past, lets see what can be down, and move forward! Stop dwelling

I personally love it and can't wait to see the system crumble and the problems that about to happen. Taxpayers will eventually revolt and then the friends and family program will finally be broken.

Only a sick individual would wish for the demise of a school system which would hurt kids the most. Who the hell says they "love" this chaos unless they're truly a miserable SOB? There's little hope to begin with after that ridiculous vote. Don't need people like you in the mix. Unless you've got all the answers. Then by all means run your mouth.

It will be a life lesson for the kids. The kids will remember the weasel adults that did questionable things and exploited them to put them in this situation. And yes there will be an amount of satisfaction.

There is a small level of satisfaction that will come from the kids making a sacrifice when their smug parents and neighbors get to watch the state step in and do what they want and merge with whomever they want. Those people think they "won" even with the $1.3 million dollar deficit rolled out. They think they can storm the citadel of the BOE and change things left and right.

But they can't, and that day of reckoning will be sweet. Just wish the kids didn't have to suffer to get there, but those "no" voters put the kids there and the blame is on them.

Who created the 1.3 million dollar deficit? Was it the No voter? It's a fairly simple question.

No they sure didn't create it. But they assured us that we have no hope for getting away from most of it anytime in the near future. And they continue to have the illusion that this is all solved through concessions. It's just not that simple.

There is a lot of hard work to be done, but it can be done. Instead of complaining about who won/who lost, why aren't we concentrating on what to do now??? There are so many different things that can be done to save the integrity of our school for our kids. Things are tight everywhere. Should we all give up our homes and move into community living because we have a hard time paying our bills??? NO we work harder to pay those bills! We do whatever it takes! I'm not saying we should have or shouldn't have merged, I'm saying, at this point it really doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is that everyone moaning and groaning get out and do something about it! What can you contribute? Every little bit will help. I for one am all in for the good of our kids, whether their parents voted yes or no I really don't care! I only care that our graduation rate goes up, our kids are offered everything they NEED. That our community pulls together and gets results! This is a business, so make the business work!

No hard work ahead, hard choices maybe.

Like do we even bother to attempt to raise the tax cap? I guess we have to take a shot at it. Ain't going to happen.

When that fails it's option b, cuts.

I pay too much now and feel I get nothing. National Grid, our ridiculous property tax, village bankrupting itself, Main St. a toilet and now lets fill the cash plate so we can keep our colors. Bullsshit.

Where does it end? We did not make the correct decision and we all know who screwed us. Don't think we don't know. Those women and their families. Oh and let's not forget the 3 unwise men.

This year, next year and all the years after...asshools.

I wish the state would come in & force a merge at this point. I am failing to see where 1.3 million comes from in the immediate without stripping critical programs. If a practical solution is out there please speak up. Most of the ones we've heard so far are not enough to get us through the short term loss. More than willing to change my view for the right solutions that don't ruin quality even further.

Great post. People who are sitting around waiting for the school system to die a slow miserable death so no voters can learn their lesson should read it too. There are ways to help.

Good thing you have someone to blame for the no merge. You'd explode otherwise.Sounds to me like you are just a miserable, mean, vindictive person who has to blame someone or everyone for YOUR unhappiness. Go have a drink chicken little and relax. If you are looking for solutions, look in the mirror and stop beating your drum here.Try switching hands.

These are great pep talks but no solutions. We need to work together, tighten are belts, get things done, there are ways to help, stop complaining and do something about it. Are there any others? The problem is no solutions. With 1.3 million less in aid we will have to cut and cut and cut. Cut educational programs, cut clubs, cut sports, cut musical programs etc. If there is another way lets here it. The teachers won`t take a pay cut or pay more for there benefits either so think again. Ideas?

You know full-well they don't have a clue. They voted no because they didn't believe what they were being told. 2+2=4 They're starting to believe it now. Wait til the budget actually hits. Then the dumb fks will really believe it.

I heard a politician told them there was plenty of money out there for education...guess what...WRONG.

Where's Jason Richards now...the dumb fk. Great interview jason, you sounded like a moron.
