It is sad to read such venom. Some writers are not
at all versed in christianity.

St. Francis school is well run by Sr. Rosalie and the wonderful staff she has. Fr. Cunningham is very supportive and does visit the school. He has wonderful rapport with the students.

People have the right to attend church wherever they choose. People have left St. Francis for their reasons. People have left other churches to attend St. Francis for their own reasons, too.

As Thumper's father said, "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say nothin' at all."

Judge away. I'm okay with it :) I may be pathetic, but I'm comfortable with who I am. I don't lie, cheat or steal and then pretend to be righteous. I own what I do. I make mistakes, misjudgements, and sometimes I just plain F-up. What I don't do, is say, "Bless me Father for I have sinned" and then turn around and do it all over again. Should I use the word hypocrite again or do you get it this time???

You are not there and do not see or hear what the principal or the priest does for the school and the parish. When was the last time you went to St. Francis church or school to know/see what is going on ? When was the last time you donated to either? when was the last time you made positive statements or suggestions for either?

The parishners and families that attend Sr. Francis are pleased.
Just be quiet, particularly when you are not involved.

By the way, do attend and support a church ?

No need to support a church when my church is my home. I do go, but don't need just to give money to support expenses of a building that is a glorified place to gather. Without the support then priests would have to work for a living instead of being supported by locals.

The church does not fool me and many others are catching on about this. Not everyone needs to attend a place to read the bible or worship when you can read and worship in your own home without the nonsense.

Enough of the music and hollabaloo in between preaching. I believe they have all this to make it worth an hour of very boring repetition of the same thing week after week.

Next time watch how slow they all move walking up and down the isles; the pauses between every little thing' the singing and music and the walk down the isle when done.

Its like watching paint dry.

The entire mass of what the Catholic religion expects you to do should only last about 25 minutes. 10 minutes of all the praying mumbo jumbo; 5 of the priest to talk and 10 to go to communion and finish to be out the door.

Its a waste for the rest.

Who the hell started "you must give 10% of your earnings to the church" anyway? The Priests???? Why not 10.9% or 13.2% or 32%...why exactly 10%?

i know people who do this thinking good comes out of it magically and when something good does happen, which it will sooner or later, they say "see, it was due to giving to the church".

I don't mind giving, but I give to those who need not give to church and see where it goes. I feed those who need and give when I can and that to me means more than giving to churches each week.

Give to the church to feed the over weight priests who should give some back???? NOPE, not anymore...

Scale down these enormous churches that costs thousands to heat and cool, not to mention other utilities.

I can't stand it when they pass the baskets and then at the end of mass talk about how the people can donate more.

By far Father Cunningham is one of the best priest around. I feel sorry for you miserable little pizzles whining about him. He has made that church into a beautiful place to worship our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. As any good Christian we will pray for you and hope God has mercy on your soul. I support Father Cunningham and pray for him and all the priests who spread the word of our Lord God Jesus Christ.
I agree!!! Father Cunningham has to deal with all of his flock who are trying to gain the upper hand by trying to out do one another trying secure a place in heaven. This man is the best thing that could have happened to St Francis. Take the time to try and understand this man and try to walk in his shoes, you might find they are to big for you to step into . So get over yourselves and try working towards the greater good. We'll be further ahead. God bless you Father there are many who love you.

Guess you've never cracked the spine of a Bible, or you'd know the origin and meaning of the tithe. Ah, well. Tithing is a choice, not a requirement, at least for Catholics. The tithe MEANS 10%. It's in Scripture. Sometimes I wonder why people who are so miffed at the Church continue to show up. Seriously, if the Mass is all boring, repetitive mumbo jumbo, what are you doing there? Or are you Catholics at all?

there is no need to attend to the "business of the church" and "yes" it is a business. Without the funds then there would be no church.

One can do exactly what the Amish do and preach to one another in their homes without worrying about giving giving giving.

Without the support of the "10%" nonsense..then the priests would have to worry about getting money elsewhere and still keep up the Church. Pull the plug on the monies and see how many priests stay in the business. Should not make a difference money or no money.

Priests can then work like everyone else and donate their preaching to whom ever needs it.

The bible has been handed down for a few thousand years now written and re-written with things added and taken out.

If a bible were stated today on a new religion, think about how it would be maybe 500 yrs from now and would it be the exact same thing?

The ten percent was put in the bible to keep the church going with the support of the people...possible being brain washed over time too to give everything they have to gain hope in the time of their death.

How much does the Churches give out themselves without the donations of the public included? Prob not much if any.

The church provide to others from others giving and the church directly has nothing to do with giving out of their pockets.

How many priests take money out of their own pockets and gives to the needy? how many priest drive expensive cars rather than a modest vehicle or no vehicle at all?

Shut all the churches down and have the families who are catholic spend a day with their families and do as the Amish do. Keep it in their homes and stop the Priest molestations.

<quoted text>It's clear you didn't go to school there. Your grammar and writing skills are so poor. I would imagine you aren't a member of St. Francis either. For sure he has a temper. For sure he is not perfect. For sure he is a sinner. For sure we know that such flaws are in all of us. It sounds like you also have an anger problem. Come to Mass and we will pray for you. If you feel the school is harshly treated, send a check to help them keep the school open. Volunteer to help. But you might also decide to check your mean spirited note and say a pray for all. If you ever met Sr. Rosalie, you would know she is up to the challenge from anyone who would hurt the school. Please be a help and not an idiot.
