I enjoy tanning and have been for a little while now. I go to Hawaiian Holiday in Herkimer and lately the service sucks. They didn't smile the past month I have gone. I have had several diff girls sign me in and they r unfriendly. What happened to the other girls that would have a conversation with people when they came in? This place became unfriendly =(

yes I noticed it too. Or they always seem to be too busy talking to each other! Their conversation comes before waiting on customers & who wants to wait when you gotta pay for parking!

Hawaiian holiday needs to fire all their workers and hire new ones who actually clean the tanning beds. Everyday I have to clean my bed before going in. Shouldn't have to especially since I'm paying the price for VIP every month. And there employees need to smile more and stop looking so god damn bitchy

there are towels left for each patron to wipe the bed down after they tan. then the staff places a new towel and makes sure the spray disinfectant is filled before the next partonn even goes in. Stop lying.
havent been there since last spring.... want to solve the unfriendly problem? stop hiring snotty little beotches.

Actually the new girls can't even get that right-they don't even remember to put in towels! Had to go get my own!

I dont know what happened?! And yes they do forget towels and they are not friendly at all. They act like they are being bothered or disturbed on thier cells. They had a newer Manager a few months ago. She was very friendly. I laughed so hard when I saw the new managers had thier names above Disney princesses. Real maturity. Hahaha what do you expect when you have 18yr old "managers"

I was planning on joining the place. But from what I have heard from others at work....they donot care about their customers. So I will find somewhere else.

Recently they hired a very nice young man there. Most of the staff before did not explain tanning packages, how to use beds; everything. This young man helped me chose a membership in my price range and offered facts and opinions on lotions and the tanning beds they offer. Hawaiian Holiday should hire more punctual and helpful employees like him. He is also very nice to have a conversation with!

Yes, most young female employees do tend to be catty, cliquish and/or at least aloof towards most customers, don't they? Unless the customer is a young, hot guy they'd like to get to know.

As a former employee, and someone who was thrown into a "management" position (because EVERYONE quit at the Herkimer salon about 5 years ago and left them with no workers) I can honestly say that this place is run by a complete moron. He would come into the salon about once a month, just to complain about shit. He would never take the time to make changes that were necessary or take suggestions from customers. A woman came in once an complained about the nasty rooms, which I agreed with and took care of immediately. They looked like they hadn't been cleaned in YEARS! He basically doesn't care about his customers, or employees, at all. I see that they are opening a new salon (or already have) on Main St, which looks like it will help with parking. Other than that, I'm sure it will be the same old bullshit. What do you expect from girls from Herkimer, though? Most of them are stuck up snobs and this is probably their first job.
