Mention the name Bishop Ford to most Chicagoans, and they'll think of I-94 traffic reports rather than the influential South Side clergyman who lent the freeway his name.

Thank you for the informative article. All of our expressways have names, but out-of-staters and outside family members easily become confused when they visit our metro-city. Can you do a follow-up article on suggestions to resolve this issue? Or is this forum the proper feedback channel?

Generations of South Suburbanites can look to this article for the final touch to the thirty year trashing of their hometowns. Whenever someone has brought up the Expressway I tell them it was renamed after a popular Car Dealer.

The Daleys would sell their Mothers, for the appearance racial sensitivity and a Vote.

If Bishop Ford was that close to the first Daley, then he was part of the problem. Reverands, ministers, bishops or whoever take too much credit while pimping thier flocks. That's all they should be known for...PIMPING!

Wow, that's really disrespectful and unfair. In every profession there are bad seeds and since you've had such bad experiences with other ministers, you shouldn't lump them all in the same basket. You should go to the museum and get a little education before you judge.

I'm sure you knew nothing about him before his death because if you did, you surely would not characterize him as a "pimp." You should be ashamed, but unfortunately I'm sure you are not.

"...the world's largest African-American Pentecostal denomination with more than 6 million members in 59 countries."

I don't quite understand this sentence from the article.

In 59 countries, are there African-Americans in all of the countries, or are there African-xxxxx's in each of the 59 countries? Or are there just blacks in 59 countries?

Did he lead the largest African-American Pentecostal group, or the largest Pentecostal denomination, of all races?

Is there actually a separate African-American Pentecostal denomination, separate from other Pentecostal denominations? Meaning one could be a Japanese member of the African-American Pentecostal denomination?

How about a brief primer on the Pentecostal organization?

Why can't you people be civil and respectful. We need to respect all people unless or until they prove they don't deserve it.

Besides, soon they'll have to rename all the expressways anyway and assign them colors, like they did the CTA "L" lines.
