Think back to maybe a year ago, a black woman was burned and dumped in a garbage can in an alley. Did they ever solve that crime? I'm starting to think this is a serial killer. What's with all of these crimes against woman and children?

Too many people have heard that it happened in an urban neighborhood, that has been portrayed as being occupied by thugs, dealers, etc. and don't care. Everyone has assumed that they were prostitutes or druggies. What amazes me about people is that they miss the big picture that these women were part of someone's family, regardless of their ""social status". I haven't come across and perfect person in my lifetime so how can you condemn a person when you have no idea of the road they have traveled.

Because women and children are defenseless against someone who's stronger and takes them by surprise, whether it's someone they know or a stranger. We all must be more careful these days....

Being careful will only go so far. Wishful thinking will not help, either. We need concealed carry laws. Chicago has the most restrictive laws in the country against personal protection. This is the result. There are stories like this one in Chicago on a regular basis, particularly on the South Side where the media and politicians could care less. Why should they? Hyde Park, where these murders occurred, is 98% registered Democrat. The residents are taken for granted.

That's simple to answer. More value is placed on the lives of people who contribute to society. I'm not saying that's the most moral stance to take. But, that's the reason.

If there's a joke in here somewhere, I'm missing it. An accelerant is something like gasoline or lighter fluid that is used to hasten the spread of a fire.

We need to get more police out on the streets in these high-crime areas. It's totally unfair that the most vulnerable citizens are also the most unprotected by those who are charged to "serve and protect" the public.

Look the word up in the dictionary if you don't know. No one wants to hear your ignorant comments.

There are a lot of crimes against pregnant women in the news. They are either murdered or missing. This is so sad for the families of the missing women. Is there so much hatred in this world that you can first kill someone and then burn there bodies beyond recognition, only dental records can identify them. This world is full of evil and demons. There are other cases in the news, but this should be a top case also. Women please be carefuld traveling alone. Take NOTHING for granted when you are out in the streets going to work or wherever. Please be careful and pay close attention IF you are able to.

Of course you don't. You are such a waste of space that ignoring you is the best thing everyone on this forum could do. Try Webster's, they have all of the answers.

Like, is that a bar on Webster? I don't think I've been to that one.[Anyone who proudly calls herself LP Trixie (not understanding that being called a "Trixie" is NOT a compliment), can't be expected to follow along.] Sorry, LP Trixie -- I'm just being mean, but sometimes you kids bug.

Men in the community need to step up and protect the women, children and the elders. Don't wait on the police because they (city) are not goint to treat this the same as they would if it was on the northside or in Naperville.

So what you are implying is that children and women should carry guns and that the people who are at fault are the voting Democrats. I will imply that you are a right wing liberal Republican who probably doesn't even vote. Vote for a politician who does care, get involved in your community and if you have been blessed with children, do your best (even with your skewed views)to mentor them appropriately. Only then will things change.
