A "city within a city". A jail in Morgan County is more like a prison within a prison. The odds of being harrassed by a toothless inbred do not deviate on either side of the wall.--That's with the Sheriff's office included.

It sounds like you are familiar with jail in Morgan County. People in this county have to work and those that do support the deadbeats that don't. The inbreeding comes from those of you who stay in jail. Get a life and don't criticize the workers that have to take care of your dead butt.

I--sometimes--have nothing better to do: "There is a time for some things, and a time for all things; a time for great things, and a time for small things." An idiot must have their time as well. So, I visit the MoCo site. It's much easier than moving back.

How is a new prison a good model for our future, it shows our children yea its ok commit a crime so you can go get a brand new home, clothes, food, activities, etc. come on why didn't we build new schools for our children instead of putting the criminals in a new home.

So, what would YOU propose to do with the criminals - let them be the playground monitors?

The jails are over crowded and the prisons full. A new prison had to be built and more will more than likely follow. It would be nice if we lived in a society where we could focus on our children and improve education etc., but things are what they are. I work at the prison and everytime a new child molestor etc. comes in I am glad that my children are that much safer.

I work there as well. This brand new prison with a 2500 bed capacity is just a couple hundred shy of being filled to capacity. What that says about our society and the way she's headed speaks VOLUMES.
I'm just glad I don't have children to raise and worry about any longer...

I also work there and have a child of my own. I feel the very same way. It's a shame that society is the way it is. Every person that comes to us is 1 less pervert, murderer etc that my child has to the chance of being their next victim....

it is ashame that we need more prisons but that is the facts when they start making it better for everyone and they can't make more money selling drugs for a better life it might get better Right now Warden Mills is making more money for hisself and his friends and the ones that have work there for years can't get a raise or a better job until Tenn. govt gets him and his cronies out of office and off our backs.........

Well it depends who you ask.

Is it easy to get on over there? Yes. They need plenty of people.

Is it a good place to work? Well, it is a job. For the BS that you have to put up with for 25K a year, I don't know. It can be dangerous upon the stupidity of others.

The place is over ran with more political BS than most of any other job you take.

If someone wants you fired, they will find a way.

There are some wonderful people who work there. However, there are also the ones who will slit your throat if you turn your back.

Inmates really isn't an issue of working there. It is the staff.

Wow. Good to know ty. I really need to get a job that could support myself and my future wife. I think I will try tomorrow. Do you know how long of a processing time there is?

Well some have placed their app and get a call for an interview in the next few days. Sometimes it might take a week or two. The want breathing bodies, so it doesn't take long.

The job is a lot more than you think it is. If you want to do it, feel free. You can become a police officer easier and make more money versus becoming an officer of the state. Just a thought.

That place isn't worth working at. Like I said, its a job, but it isn't a career. Some turn it into that though.

I'm glad I don't work there any more. I have a standard that some will never understand. I look past the norm of the prison and want to do something with my life. Doing a job at the prison only hinders your ability to progress in life.

I worked at the prison. It is experience. I am now an ABC II agent only because I have gotten an education.

Anyone can get P.O.S.T. certifications without having experience. You can spend about 1700 bucks to get your certs and be a police officer quicker than you would be through experience and trying to get a department to support you, or sponsor you.

Go get your certs and you will be in. Simple. Even with 10 years experience, you will have to get certified to be a police officers. Why not do it now and start as you are?

I dont have the 1700 dollars extra or I probably would. I am just trying to make enough to move out of my mothers house atm to get my fiance down here with me. That is why I am wanting to work at the prison. I will look into the P.O.S.T test and such and see what all I need to do that. It was this or the military.
