Hospital refuses to treat injured dog

Why was your dog off leash? Where was your regular vet? and why did you go to Beebe Medical Center? Do not blame Savannah Animal Hospital for your mistakes. Savannah's emergency service is for Savannahs clients because all other vet offices in Sussex county send clients to Dover's 24 hour emergency service. Savannah does NOT have the manpower to open up a 24 hour service. And every vet has an answering machine or service that DIRECTS YOU TO THE EMERGENCY CLINIC IN DOVER......

Ted makes some good technical points but the system that's in place for handling animal emergencies in that area is obviously inadequate.

I think this is really sad. Leash or no leash, was the other dog on a leash? Just like a person, this poor animal should have be treated by the first available vet they could find. I am glad I don't take my pets to a place with so little feeling or heart for animals. If you are on call then you should be responding to this emergency situtations. And the other vets who would send their patients to the emergency unit is Dover are no better. There should be an on call vet available at each facility to help out and save lives like this poor dog. NOW DAYS PEOPLE HAVE NO HEART, OR FEELING FOR ANYTHING !!!!!
