Does anyone know if this hotel is still open and if so, what the number is? I've tried calling the number off of the website and it is busy all of the time. Thanks!

As of late yesterday the Executive Inn is closed. According to news article the Inn will not be reopened while renovations are being done. No word as of today if the sale to a Florida investment group has been completed. Paducah Power shut off all electrical service last week due to nonpayment of the bills. This has been the black eye of the year for the city of Paducah!

Guest- according to today's newspaper -the sale of the Executive Inn is suppose to be finalized Monday. The County Attorney is checking to see where monies paid to the E are and when will they be refunded. A lot of early reservations had been made for the 09 quilt show. The show is still on schedule. Lodging is the only thing still up in the air but there are several other nice hotels in Paducah and surrounding areas.
Try Marriott or Drury Suites.

Let us remember that the hotel was in horrible condition BEFORE the current owner bought it. This is just an attempt to blame it on a foreigner to run him out of town. This is very sad behavior.

The current owner, Buhpinder Singh, is holding the city of Paducah up. He has not done anything he said he would and everything he says he will do never happens without some sort of hitch. When he made his last mortgage payment he did so only at the last minute before being foreclosed on. IMO this man is a thief and can't be trusted. He can't pay his electric bill, the hotel has been losing about $200,000 each month since he's owned it. The few conventions it had have all gone elsewhere. He paid $5.7 million for the hotel and he's demanding $9 million with a non-refundable deposit. And hitches are still delaying the sale.

If ever there was a time to use eminent domain this is it. Singh has been the problem since he bought it.

It has become very evident that Mr.Singh has no concerns or regard to the future of Paducah. He has been offered $9 million for the Inn that he paid $5.7 for last year. What a fast turn on his investment but still he wants more! He has pocketed $200,000 in advance reservations for the April 09 quilt show and still was not able to pay the electric bill for 2 months. This guy needs to head back to his business in California and never return to Kentucky. The leaders in Paducah should have seen the writing on the wall as soon as this guy hit town. CROOK! With a turban!

It cannot possibly be an attempt to run him out of town, because HE DOESN'T Live here. On top of tht, he rarely visits- which is why he does not care if the hotel (which was in poor condition) falls further into disrepair until it is completely unsalvagable and a grave economic liability to our community. It is ridiculous to attempt to make this situation even ALMOST about discrimination. It has nothing to do with ethnicity- it is solely about what is an is not responsible or in the best interest of Paducah.

You are correct about the condition of the Executive Inn. The previous owner, Jim Smith's daughter did not put a dime into the place. However, the current owner Budapad whatever lied to the city and then ran the hotel completely in the ground. No offence intended but who in their right mind didn't see this comming when he bought it?

Amen. The city leaders should have seen the writing on the wall. When was the Executive Inn built? We stayed their a few years ago and it was terribly out-dated. It looked like it was stuck in the late 70's

I would have to say this is not all the new owners fault. Granted he made a lot of promises back when he bought the E that he has come nowhere near to have even begun to show light to, but I honestly believe the city mainly the mayor, had every intention of trying to run him out of business after he bought the Inn. Not long after the new owner bought the Inn, it was announced that we would also be getting another new hotel just blocks away to rival the E. (Which nothing has started on it either.) And all this posturing for the sale is Paxton's ploy to save the town of Paducah by keeping the quilt show so he can look good during an election year. I think he's messed this town up enough. Vote for anybody other than Paxton this year. A mentally challenged Baboon on Meth could do a better job.

Are you from Paducah? If you were, you would understand that the AQS Quilt Show brings in millions for the city of Paducah. From the hotels being booked years in advance to the restraunts that profit, which keep them here so that you can go grab a bite whenever you wish.
What does the quilt show mean to Paducah? EVERYTHING!!!!

I'm a quilter who sent money in for next year's show in good faith. Singh cashed my check for over $700 and I'll probably never see that money again. I have enjoyed coming to Paducah for years now and have loved the show, the museum, the restaurants, the courteous citizens, and the riverwalk area. This one man has ruined the Paducah experience for me forever.

You can be sure ALL the advanced reservations are now being checked. Today's Paducah Sun reports that a investigation is in progress by Commonwealth Attorney's office. Felony charges are pending because minium deposits of $580 were received. A total of 66 deposits ABOVE the actual room count (434 available- 500 adv.res.) were received. If monies were diverted for some other use it would warrant criminal charges against Mr Singh. New owners (if sale is completed) will honor the advanced reservations. And I also feel the actions of Mayor Paxton were to make sure that Mr.Singh's business venture was a failure and would force a sale to some of his business friends. I can't help but wonder just where these new investors were when the Inn was first put on the market. There are many unanswered questions regarding this entire saga and all of City Hall. I just hope Paducah can recover from this entire negative mess!!

The only way Paducah can truely recover is to get Paxton out of office. And his buddy Siegler too. But who has a decent shot when the Mayor's family owns the newspaper and if I'm not mistaken part of Newschannel 6.
