What's the difference between lighting a city road or a small dangerous area of road? Someone living in that area for more than 15 years, with that experience on a particular road, just doesn't miss a turn, one that he was so familiar with. Since the road is limited by terrain, the best and probably only solution would be to illuminate the areas where there has been a high concentration of fatalities. I'm sure those areas could be counted on one hand but have taken many lives.
i agree with you 100% but osage county sucks, they dont care about public safty, this area where this accident took place is in the middle of nowhere, we dont even have cable tv because it is way in the woods

Actually those areas could not be counted on one hand. And it's not just this curves it's the potholes also. Another thing that plays into factor is the wildlife. I have had a fox run straight into my tire once. When something like that happens some people dodge them and run off the road. Or some people don't dodge them and the animal runs into them and they lose control. I know someone that has hit cows on these roads at night. You never know what to expect on these roads.

These are apparently rual roadways... probably county roads??? are they... if so that would account for the cows in the roadway... potholes ... and roadways that you say are dangerous... I would contact the county and see if something couldn't be done from that end... but riders and cars beware...

Buffalo was something like the 4th in that one particular area, according to a resident keeping count. If we could see the future, would've paid the approximately $15 per month for a light pole myself rather than having to hear the way he died. Fatalities have names, lives, families, and friends, and should not be forgotten. Instead of buying flowers for the guard rail, like every year when I visit, think I will buy a reflector instead...

You forget, this is Osage county, the largest county in Oklahoma. They get the same amount of funding as other counties yet have more roads to cover.

You sure don't see stimulus in action.... Stimulus alloted for road repairs should've been divided by the mileage of roads, not based on populus or county.

It is very hard to read comments that are very harsh about my father. May 25, 2009 was the day that my father was taken from this earth. to the people who had something shitty to say about my father have you ever had to stand on the road and see your father laying there dead and then to have the paramedic tell you that your father is dead??? that is something no one should ever have to see and apparently none of you people have because if you did you would not have had something negative to say... My father was the passenger on the bike and had nothing in his system!!!!!!!!!!alcohol, drugs exc.....) and I just so happen to have the report just saying. so no one should judge until they know the whole story!!! Also I would like if whomever have something negative to say about my father address your comments to me because I have a few words for you myself.. I still miss you and love you daddy always and forever!! love your daughter Ashley!! by the way your daughters are growing up fast and your only son misses you more and more everyday!! RIP daddy and please disregard these comments that these people with know heart have said! you were the best daddy and taken to soon :(

Might I just say that it is very tragic to read these posts. Heath Hendrix is my brother! NOT WAS STILL IS!! Billy was my brother n law. No one meant to hurt anyone & how stupid is it for people who are from other parts of the country to post anything. This tragedy moves on everyday for all involved. Both Heath & Billy are the Father of my Nieces & Nephew & I would love to blame anything & anyone but it is a waste of heart. They are both loved & cherished. They will never see their children grown. How heartless do you have to be to be so very mean to my family. I have the report from the coroner on both men. I would post it but the truth is you need to mind your own business. Heath Hendrix had just rededicated his life to Christ, 4 months previous. So as a family we are very glad that he did. Billy had an accident. He didn't get up that day & decide to leave his family. Fate is at work here. Because I do believe that it is written before we are born on what day we will leave this earth & exactly how. I would be very happy to comment on your families. But that is stupid as I don't know you & from your actions & words would prefer it stay that way. There are children reading these posts. Heath & Billy's children. If you have no compassion for children then I have no ears to hear your fabricated fairy tales to which you are not party to the truth & why in the hell would you care anyway?

To everyone that has these shirt comments need to get a life. Do you seriously have nothing better to do then put people down about this situation? Get over yourself. I bet you guys are what, 30/40. Well, listen here I am 16 years old and I lost my father when I was 11. Yes it was a mistake but what if that was your dad, your mom, your very own children? How would you like it if people were doing this to you? You wouldn't be very happy and I know it. These comments are ridiculous and I'm tired of reading them. No matter what you guys say or what you think happen doesn't matter. NOTHING is going to bring them back. NOTHING. That day was very tragic for both families. We have been through a lot since then and we are strong people and all you pathetic people on here don't change how stronge we are. We have made it this far and we will never stop being the people we are today. I feel sorry for you all if you think it's right to sit there and say all those ridiculous things just to make yourself feel better? No. I'm done with it. I love you daddy and I always will! I miss you so much but I know your always here with me and never to far! ❤️ Your daughter Mikenzee.
