Here are the cities banning or considering banning pit bulls in Tennessee. How nice would it be to get rid of these anaimals and the welfare owners that own them from our city. Lets get our city added to the list.

Pit bulls are not bad dogs. The owners of them make them bad. If you ban pit bulls because of how people have raised them in the past then you should go ahead and ban Rottweilers and Dobermans. For that matter some people should be banned for having children as well because half of the idiots here have no clue how to raise their children and just let them run free and do what they want without having to take any responsibility for their actions.

You may want to consider the Philippines for very affordable gender change operations. I heard they are offering pre-xmas specials on mangina-ectomies this week.

Two attacked a guy in my neighborhood while walking his yellow lab. It took 2 grown men w/ baseball bats to get them off him and his dog. The end result was $600 in medical and vet bills.

We have not seen them in a while. However, everyone is in agreement, we see them again and they will be taken care of.

You better believe the owner doesnt have two nickles to rub together and even if he does he wont take the responsibility..

So what about the people who own pit bulls and do have money? Just because you own a certain dog doesn't mean you are poor. And again it's the people who teach them to be mean who have those experiences. If the dogs were on a leash then thy wouldn't have been able to attack the other dog. Same goes with almost any dog. If my boxer was allowed to free roam my neighborhood he could potentially hurt another dog or animal but because I'm a good owner I let him in my fenced in back yard and I supervise him while he's out there.

This is a stero type! I rescued a pit bull from an animal shelter who is one of the best dogs ive ever had. She is not mean or visious and even got scared of a fly once. Ive heard stories of people getting attacked by Labs and Golden retrievers and these are some of the most popular dogs in american homes. Its all how they are raised and i agree people that raise them to be mean are usually thugs. So they can try to take away my right to have my dog but I will fight it with everything I can !!!

600 bucks in medical bills from an alleged attack by two "vicious" dogs against another dog and owner meant they took a trip to vet and GP, got bandaids and a binky.

If my dogs (standard poodles) get a hold of you, they'll be sending a helicopter and 600 bucks is how much you better hope your church and neighbors raise for your daily maintenance.

First, just not everyone that owns a pit bull is on welfare, I happen to work in the corporate office of a company that makes over $5 billion/year and I have a very decent salary.
Second, just like any other dog, the way they behave is how they are raised. I have seen numerous children that act worse, have created more problems, injured people and have been in more trouble than my pit bull, can we ban them?

Pit Bulls are not the problem ignorant people are, whether it be the negligent owners or the uneducated trying to judge a breed they really know nothing about. I have owned many different breeds and out of them all the pit bull is my favorite, it is the most intelligent and loyal dog I have ever owned.

If you look up the history of pit bulls they were once called "nanny dogs" because of their mild temper. They were used to watch over SMALL CHILDREN all the time. Society and idiots have changed them into what they are.

I have to agree. Thinking about what this man states I try to imagine what really happened. Dogs will be dogs and I can imagine two dogs that got loose and wanted to greet the other dog wandering around their hood.

The lab or goldie owner, that does not understand dog behavior, assumes those approaching are wild killer dogs and likely making noises like a 9 year old terrified girl along with animated body language that only makes a would be inert situation bad. Mean while, the owner is creating quite a scene, the two "attack dogs" become challenged and agitated, the malingering brouhaha escalates enough for neighbors to round up ball bats to then come, further challenging the "attack dogs" into fight or flight, convinced these profiled dogs are vicious and mean nothing but harm.

They wouldn't have had time to round up bats or neighbors had they really been vicious attack or killer dogs.

I have Canary dogs, what they will do to an intruder or idiot in my home, in less than 5 seconds, no 600 dollars would come close to fixing. Another dog? A hefty garbage sack is cheap and so is peroxide to clean up the mess.

I ain't buying it. Even responsible dog owners from time to time have a clever dog escape, but, what he alleges and what the consensus of his neighbors are convinced happened, simply wasn't what happened.

It only takes seconds.

Now I'm not excusing the dogs being loose, nor am I saying everyone should learn dog behavior, but, don't speak trash out of the side of your neck just because you don't understand simple dog behavior and don't know any of their language.

Certainly people that live in CA have more important issues to worry about like banning gas powered leaf blowers and such rather than pit bulls attacking dog walkers in TN..........

600 bucks alleged medical and vet bills sounds more like somebody got attacked by a near missing leaf blower. Maybe one of the ball bat three minute men took a wild swing?

Come here and pet my puppy on the top of his head as if you know him or have any basic clue about dog behavior. We'll show you how we roll in California.
