My husband and I are considering relocating to North Carolina and it was recommended that Hendersonville is a nice place to begin. Any thoughts? We are in our mid 40's and have no young children. Our hope is to find a rental home for the first year while deciding if it is the right place for us. Any thoughts?

If you are not looking for a full time, well paying job-then this is a good place. Low crime rate, minimal traffic problems compared to big cites, an adequate airport and 2 hours from the major airport in Charlotte. Wonderful weather and lots to do in the outdoors. NC state income tax should be a consideration, though-it's 7 %. Home values are exceptional now and many places are going rental.

To all the fine people in Brevard especially those on top of Rich Mountain - you do not want New Yorkers moving to your area. Believe me, living in the corrupt state of dysfunction in NY I wouldn't want anyone from this state moving into my community.

This area is wonderful. Moved here from Orlando last year. The people are great, schools are good and crime rate is low.
