Hello, my name is Adam and I am a local pastor trying to collect some information about our community in Henderson. My purpose is to try and find out how to pray for our city and how to best minister to our community. If you have no interest in church, I still would love to hear your responses to this survey. If you are a member of a local congregation, I would love to hear your responses. I would welcome anyone and everyone to answer these questions. I will personally make sure that each response is prayed over and if you need something specific please let me know and I will pray for each request.
Thanks and God Bless, Adam

It's sad that this gets no attention but all the threads that contain complaining and gossip are full of life. We need to get out priorities straight.

I was born here.
I moved away for a while and came back mainly to change my life and get family support. From the time I moved away to the time I moved back ive seen a drastic change in the demographics. Mainly a increase in population in the hispanic people. This town used to be white and black and a definate segregation of the two. It is much more diverse
The changes I think that need to happen is within in some of the Churches takes place its not the Church or the leaders it just seems to be peoples natural instinct to worship and associate with tthere own race. I would like to see the church become more diverse. That would be a good step in changing alot of the way this town is run in general. As far as myself i attend different. Churches alot. Bar none, new life, metro, abundant life in carthage. So far new life and abundant life have had the most racial diversity it was really cool because different cultures worship a bit different and when you combine them it just becomes about worshiping God not the differences.

Pastor Adam,
I have lived here all my life. I used to attend a local southern baptist church growing up as a child. After I got grown I visited several other local churches and now attend Bar None. I like the relaxed atmosphere and how everyone treats each other equally.I dislike feeling like I have to wear certain "Sunday clothes" or wear makeup or listen to only certain conversations. Our church feels comfortable and never makes anyone feel unwelcome. I like the mix of music too- some traditional and some that were country songs turned to praise the Lord songs. I think a more modern approach at church helps attract younger people( teenagers and young adults) are sometimes hard to reach because of peer pressure or the lack of parents taking them any more. I think our town overall has good people in it.It seems to me most people get along whether black or white or other. Until something happens in the community to sway it one way or another. Public knowledge of people doing wrong unto others can certainly divide our town. I do believe though, that Henderson is a God fearing town and I have seen everyone come together to help others in need no matter what their race or religion. Just my honest opinion.

I moved to Henderson, from Colorado, 13 yrs ago. I am an evangelist and there are a few changes I've seen concerning the churches in Henderson, and I have visited many many different churches and denominations during different programs. I liked like to say the chur hrs are growing by leaps and bounds but in actuality many pastor I talk to say that people have stopped coming or just come once in a while. I strongly feel we are in the end times and going through the "great falling away of the believers..." I have been praying for THE CHURCH not individual churches.
What I love about Henderson is they have a moment of silence in the mornings at the schools so they can pray. I have noticed bullying has gotten bad but it appears that the campuses are doing their best to tackle that. I enjoy the fact that I can go to Walmart and go into worship and have church talking to someone and not be looked down upon :)
I do go to. church at Bethel Laneville but we attend some activities at New Life. Bethel is our church home. God bless you Bro. Adam
