In this day and time everyone knows that our welfare system sucks. Why can't the goverment spend money on having welfare receipients tested for drugs? You fail the test you don't get any money forever. That should be enough incentive to not do drugs. I also believe that if you have kids and we are supporting them then we should not receive any increasements in your welfare benefits if you have more kids. If you can't afford to support 1 kid then you don't need anymore. Think how much we will save on welfare. Also think about how much shorter the lines will be at Wal-Mart!!!

They should test for beer and nicotine. Any person on food stamps should have them taken away if they smoke, drink, use recrecational drugs. Takes lots of money just to smoke and drink. Most don't pay child support. Most people on food stamps pay nothing for kids lunches or school supplies. Look in Henderson paper and see what school supplies are required. Says at bottom kids on low-income don't have to bring anything but a backpack.

Why not just tie it into a chip-and-pin card that can't be used at certain places for certain things...vices like alcohol, nicotine, recreational drugs could be the motivation people need to find a job...either cause they are sober OR because they still need to finance the vice...
Drug testing for sure though with medical exceptions, how about go a bit further and require 20 hours of job searching and 20 hours of community service per week...or 40 hours of community service if they choose, imagine the money we could save with everyone on welfare doing community service!!

I bet if they cut the Medicaid program funds and put more stipulations on the requirements for being eligible, alot of these women would quit having babies!
I heard that 'supposedly' the government was going to put a limit on how many pregnancies Medicaid would cover.
I heard that they were going to cover 2 pregnancies and that was it.
If the women has more children, she would have to get her own insurance.
I really hope that the government does revamp the 'welfare system', because that would definitely put a stop to these women popping out babies every year just to stay on welfare!

I teach these welfare babies and to say that they take care of their children is a joke. They do not pay attention to their children. They do not give them life experience. And they do not teach them any type of vocabulary. (just simple conversation is lacking) Lots of low IQ's. And we wonder why test scores are low. HELLO. They can have kids (as many as they want) and get paid for them. And if u have a kids with serious behavior issues..... That gets ya a little bonus money.

Yes, we should all stand up and contact our state and national representatives to put a stop to this nonsense. It is not the children's fault, but they dont stand a chance, sad but true> They will become an inmate, welfare/food stamp recipient and not ever hold a steady job. The cycle just keeps repeating itself, enough already. No more free rides and no more "getting paid for popping out kids" every 10 months for us hardworking people to support.

Dont you realize that our government is the cause of all this. They have enabled and promoted this endless cycle and furthermore they have no desire to end it. The government wants folks to be totally dependent on them for everything. Its called liberalism and everyone from Obama to Rick Perry push the agenda.

The won't ever do anything about it. The more babies these crackheads squirt out, the more future voters they have, and the dems won't let anybody piss off their constituents.

The jury is in ........now get out and VOTE! It's the only way to make a difference. Those of us that pay our own way in this world need to get rid of the politicians that want to keep people ignorant and dependent on the government.

Wow... And this is the state of our education system-where our educators don't take any responsibility for these low "IQ's" (assuming a psychologist administered the IQ exam), a lacking vocabulary, and LOW TEST SCORES! Yes, it's the parents fault that their EDUCATIONAL needs are not being addressed properly by their teachers.
Be accountable for your part in these children's lives. Leave the rest to their parents.

This sounds familiar! Oh yes, let's regress 100+ years and bring back the mandatory sterilization laws. Now would you want to open it back up to the intellectually and developmentally disabled-the undesirables too?
