If El Puerto had better food, then this place must be horribly bad, because El Puerto is the worst Mexican food I've ever eaten, and I've eaten alot!

Are you talking about the tortilla place? I've bought tortillas there before, and they were decent, but I've never tried any of their food.

very good food, great service. Their salsa is really good, and the green sauce is just like El chico's use to serve. Its nice to have more places to eat here. I give it a 10!
Please do not think I am making fun of you or trying to be rude because I am not. I simply want to clarify for those out there who view El Chico in the same way I do... which is El up chucko (nasty)... please understand that Sombreros is NOTHING like El up chucko! It is fantastic! I am a spoiled Mexican food connoisseur from Houston and when I moved to Eats Texas 9 yrs. ago... my main gripe was that they had no idea how to cook Mexican food. But Sombrero's (not to be confused with El Sombrero's who is owned by totally different owners) is by far ranked up there with the best as far as East Texas Mexican restaurants go.

My personal favorites (although there are things I love & things I do not care for at all of them are as follow: Tio Blanco's, Lake Port Area (great salsa & queso. Do not care for their fundido/flameado), El Sombrero's, Kilgore & Longview (great salsa, queso, enchiladas. Do not care for their fajitas), Sombrero's, Henderson (great green sauce & queso fundido/flameado, good fajitas & homemade tortillas. Do not care for their chicken tortilla soup).

Worst Mexican restaurants I have personally tried in East Texas in my opinion:#1 Lupe's (Oh please... save yourself the money and go to Walmart & buy an El Patio frozen dinner... seriously!)#2 El Upchucko (El Chico)#3 Pappasitos, Longview (not to be confused with the REAL Pappasitos in Houston which are fantastic) great atmosphere but weird food that is just ok at best.

Worst place in town, managers are incompetent, just like the owners! They give no respect to their employees, and the owner wouldn't know good work ethic if it hit him in the face.
