His name is Oliver Jones, he was a vietnam vet, and transported disabled vets back and forth to the veterans hospital. I've been looking for the article on what had happened. does anyone know or have a link to the article at all?
He was hit by a car and thrown off his bike, and then was run over by another car. Arrangments are pending until his family gets here from Florida. I am sure you could call Garman funeral home or Leo at the county VA office to find out when services will be.

He was not hit by another car..please don't add to this tragedy by making up stories.

That is a bad place, this is about the 3rd motorcycle wreck that has happened there. Pray for the families involved. Both, the female who hit him and the family of the man killed.
Please, please everyone watch out for motorcycles. It is summer time, and motorcycles are everywhere! This is the second fatality in the same spot. Slow down and look twice. Your hurry is not more important than the families whose lives have been destroyed by pure carelessness!

this was the information we got from the family. When we called about where to send flowers I was told he was thrown from his bike and hit by another car. His injuries are consistent with being run over. I am sorry if this is not what happened I was just stating what the family said. Maybe they "added to it" Oliver was our friend and I pray he did not suffer. If he was not hit by a second car, that gives us some peace. We were also told the driver that hit him was on her phone and not paying attention. Since you were a witness, could you verify this for us? Our heart goes out to the driver that hit him, but if she was negligent, she does not deserve any sympathy.

My sister was the other person involved in the wreck and I can assure you she was not on her phone. It was a complete accident. There was nothing she could have done.

Were you with your sister and therefore and eye witness or just repeating what you were told. If you can assure she was not on the phone you shouldn't mind telling how you are so sure. I don't know either party and I feel for both families but to make a statement like you have it has to be backed up by facts.

if there was nothing she could have done, then why are they considering negligent homicide charges? They normally don't consider that unless the driver was under the influence, a deliberate act, or was otherwise distracted. People need to stay off the phone and pay attention. If you don't have Bluetooth or hands free then it can wait. If you have to talk then pull over !! Witness's said she was on her telephone, so which is it?

Who on earth in my family told you that??..Sometimes no information is better than false information...and it is NOT like my family to give out false speculated information especially concerning something like this..

I was not there, but I know my sister. And they are not considering negligent homicide charges. Idk where you're getting your information from, but you're wrong. Witnesses also said there was nothing she could have done and the police said it was an accident, so get your facts straight before you just start gossiping about something that you didn't see. People are just making up stuff and adding to it as it goes around. She feels bad enough without all you people making it seem like it was all her fault. So why don't you all get your own lives and shut up.

All these stories and theories are nonsense..nobody here has spoken to my family and knows what happened..we still don't have an official report..he was not hit twice...and no there aren't so called wounds indicating so..the arrangements have indeed been made..those who have put us in their prayers ..thank you..if you are truly the mother and sister of the girl driving we are very much aware that she is probably feeling pretty hurt over it as well..we can all do nothing but move forward

Shouldn't something be done about this intersection? Changing the speed limit did not help! Who needs to be contacted to at least get a stop sign put up? You can barely see the STOP painted on the ground. I really believe that a stop light would be better.
