JackB said "First the Student Activity Center was not built with bond money, not is/was the new ag center so you are not still paying for that."

Yes Jack, but it was built with money from SOMEWHERE, yes? And was that FREE money or did it come from someone/something being taxed? Semantics, Jack. Someone was forced to "contribute" and those dollars were misspent.

By the way Jack, not everyone in the Henderson School District makes 30.00 PLUS dollars an hour working for Texas Utilities/TUMCO/TUGCO/TU/TXU/L uminant.

And for the jerk spewing about buying a McDonalds burger, it's my money, I earned it and I'll spend it as I danged well please. Folks like you wanting to take from folks like me so you can have what you want with minor contribution on your part is bovine excerment.

Why are we 3A again with all these students? Oh yeah, the kids these days couldn't compete because parents baby them. If we get this new building I better hear in years to come distinguished doctors, lawyers, inventors, f*#cking Nobel Prize winner or something come from these graduating classes!!! Bunch of selfish a$$ parents and dishonest administrators!!! There better NOT be any discussion on band, sports, ag, or ANY of my money spent on anything other than a shiny new building for these spoiled a$$ parents and their kids!!!! Mark my words....I will campaign and change shit!!!!

We have to be responsible and provide for out future students. The old school is not and can not be brought up to meet the technolgy progress that is going on in this country. Every thing that is being presented on the bond is strictly educational, and would provide a decent place for our kids to get an education. We must put our kids and future ahead of our own intrest, as these will be the ones running our country and city, and also will be providing for your well fare in the future. Do you want someone making decisions that was not provide a chance to have the best education that we can give them.Granted this means that we have to spend money. I am not a proponent of raising taxes, and it would benefit me to have them wait 3 more years, but I can see the need and am willing to take on the extra cost now. Please take the time and make an effort to see for yourself what the old school is like, and I think that you might agree. Please make a informed, rational decision when you vote and don't vote just because you did not like what happened before or you are not aware of how things are at the school. I will try to answer any questions you may have or will get you and snswer, but on rational question. Thanks for your time.
About them taking care of our future well fare? Explain because if my memory serves me right Medicare and everything else that takes care of retirees will no doubtfully be obsolete by the time they're paying taxes. Don't blame the no voters....blame the poor decisions the board and administration has made with poor spending. What they have on paper means nothing when they can take a team of lawyers and "legally amend and change" policy and proposals. The big question is TRUST! There's no trust in the words of these people.

Sterling you are a joke. You make no valid comments on any board you comment on! Just start a NASCAR forum because Henderson knows after reading that you possess the educational level of NOTHING! If the proposal was in fact to build to help educate students to not become like you and possess a mind of a retarded mule I think citizens should read your posts and picket the side of 79 daily until the community was aware of your ignorance. Just drink another Pabst and dream that dream of being behind the wheel making constant left turns Ricky Bobby....topix should build a firewall that ONLY has left turns to prevent small minded idiots like you away from the keypad. It seems as though you did lose the race in education my friend.

Let me clear up what I said about them taking care of us. They will be our future leaders and what we pass on to them and the education they have will be what we will have to live with in later years. We must give our kids the education and ability to make good sound judgements for our future as they take over in our community and governments.
I assure you that if any of the board or administration tries to make changes to what is recommended on the new school, I will be right there with you protesting and fighting and campaining against it as it is not right to do something that after the fact. The bond will be used to build only the middle school and the only part of the bond that has anything to do with atheletics or band is what it takes to incorporate the existing buildings into the new school.(ie. entrancies, hall ways.) Hope this clears some things up, but please ask if you have any more questions.

Good education and good facilities start with a good school board. People like Jjohnson so full of the dumbass and arrogant, the real question is how did it come to be that we allowed the school board to spend over $5 million for the dickie dome and the delapidated unsafe middle school was a lesser priority. That says a lot. Do enough people know or care what our kids think when they go to other schools and see better facilities. My son says the maintenance at the middle school and maintenance at the HS is horrible. Everything is always broken, leaking, or stinks. The school board is too busy hiring brother-in-laws of 5th generation family then are scared to hold anyone accountable. We hold lesser people in highthe ranking positions less accountable and chase away the smart ones. How many school board members, city council members, and county commissioners will talk to a large group about serious matters, future plans and changes, and put themselves out there to take unexpected questions? Its important that you know how smart or dumb the people are on these organizations boards. AND WE DONT.

Here is an idea Tommy-why don't you run for one of the stated positions in your post. Sounds like you have all the answers! If I remember the tax payers voted down the last bond election not the school board or any member of the city council.

The point was, many people are voting no on the bond because of a few members of the school board. The bond is voted on by all voters, while each board member is just voted on by the people in their prencinct or district. If better care was taken of what they have and appropriately following "the plan and priorities" they'd get a few, maybe even enough yes votes. I voted yes both times inspite of arrogant a-holes on the board who dont have kids in Henderson ISD. Nothing against MSW. She isnt the problem.

JackB I'm afraid you are wasting your time trying to convince these folks of the necessity and wisdom of a new middle school. As is obvious by most of the posts, you are dealing with foul mouthed, illiterate, self centered mouthbreathers who have no vision beyond their next pay check. Granted, taxation is high and our present administration in Washington wants more. Also, previous spending decisions made by HISD may not have had a big financial impact, but the visual impact was huge.

Your best bet is to try and attract the attention of more intelligent voters....people who can think for themselves and put forth valid, reasonable arguments minus the hatred, venom and wrath.

Just a thought.

"...previous spending decisions made by HISD may not have had a big financial impact..."??????? So, you don't think the previous HISD board decisions had a big financial impact? And you're referring to most posters on this topic as ignorant? Sheesh.

So, higher taxes, the present administration need for more tax payers money and previous spending decisions are not valid arguments?

Besides wasting money on some unnecessary school bond issues they are using tax payer dollars for the unethical CSCOPE curriculum. This is not the time in our economy to be experimenting with our tax dollars and our kids. Come learn more about what the state is doing with the investigation of CSCOPE. There is a public meeting on March 7th (Henderson Federal Savings - 7pm) with guest speaker Michelle Smith from Concerned Women for America coming from Dallas. she attended all of the hearings in Austin on CSCOPE and knows the latest in the financial investigation. How much did Henderson pay for this curriculum? Does anyone know? Have you read it? Probably not because it was off limits to parents for viewing.
