Tarbutton's has moved to the old Chen's place and is now open.

I have heard that Blessings will be reopening at their old location.

Did they go out because they were selling more than tea and cokes. I know alot of people that wouldn't go because of that.

Sal's is great! The food is authentic Italian, many choices on the menu, reasonable prices and especially good. Service is wonderful. Don't miss out on a really GOOD new restaurant.

Sal's IS really good. The menu gives me enough impetus to want to go back and try other things. I tried it the first time and got what I thought would be a good exam... fried calamari, the combo (canneloni, lasagna, manicotti), and the rustica salad.

calamari was delicious. SO much better than that place that was downtown, which tasted like it had dry ranch dressing mix all over it. the combo was good, but not great. i couldn't tell if that was because I got it to go, or whether that's what you'll expect every time. you could hardly tell where the canneloni ended and the lasagna began. but, it was still good.

the rustica salad was insanely good. for around $7, you got your weight in fresh mozzarella. and not the cheap, rubbery "fresh" mozzarella you can get at Kroger for $7. tender, succulent fresh mozzarella. it was all a very good deal, and only took 15 mins for takeout.

one thing though... those rolls (the bread you get) need to be switched over to toasted garlic bread. i didn't care for the bread at all.

Sal's gets an A in my book.

daisy brand makes imitation sour cream too. im really beyond now what your question is. where exactly was I proven wrong? if the chicken that is served in the chimichangas is not frozen out of a bag, then.. well i guess i don't know anything about anything.

considering that the pieces are very uniform and have those Subway-style Sharpie marker grill marks on them, i'm pretty sure i'm right. i also know that the fajita meat is not the same as what comes on the fajitas. you can tell that by juiciness and dryness.

yours your point, not applicable? it's freaking great food? i've never once heard you say that the food was good, rather just what I SAID ABOUT IT was wrong. where are your comments that it's good?

just sayin... and thinkin...

The fajita meat is the exact same. Ask them.

Real Italian restaurants serve bread not toasted garlic bread. The bread is so you can soak up the sauces that are used. If you want toasted garlic bread try a pizza joint.

I agree with you. I guess what I should've said was GOOD, crusty bread. You would expect a basket filled with several types of artisan breads... a crusty wheat bread, sliced; a small baguette; and maybe a soft one similar to what they serve.

As it stands now, though, it's just a soggy piece of bread to begin with. I agree that the bread is meant to soak up the sauces that are used. But for texture reasons it shouldn't be soggy to begin with! The bread isn't bad, just not great. It's a criticism. Sal's is doing so much right. Fix the bread.

I, and I'm sure many others, are more than pleased with the FREE bread served. If you (thinkin) had any idea of the labor and expense that goes into the FREE bread you would change your tune. You stand alone if you would like the menu items to all go up a buck or two to cover the cost of your 'artisan' breads that would mostly be tossed. A note; the bread he serves is great fresh like served, however it's just good after it sits or a while.
Keep up the great work Sal!

the bread isn't free. it's overhead, which means the cost of it and the labor to cook it are built into the PRICES of everything else. that is unless the business model is bound for bankruptcy. i don't think that's true, so no, the bread isn't free. if i said i didn't want any, would they knock $1 off the cost of my meal?

i don't know what is up with people posting on here. it's a criticism. the bread is NOT great. it is mediocre. the rustica salad is great. the calamari is great. the bread is not. it should be fixed.

and jesus, i've worked in a restaurant before. i know exactly what it takes to thaw out frozen bread and bake it to order. it's not like splitting the atom.
