Amazing how many people God moved back when a new pastor came to town.
I listen to Dr. David on the radio first Sunday he come last May, he preached on the Great Commission God showed me I needed to go back home. I never had any intention of living Calvary. June the 24 his first Sunday the first Sunday Dr.David came as pastor I moved my membership back. I started going to church there when I was 5. My roots were there. I was saved and Baptisted at FBC. I value the 7 yrs I was at Calvary. Would not be where I am today. I learned alot in the Bible Study at Calvary. I left FBC because I was not being feed Gods word or maybe it was me. Anyway people have different seasons in life.
When I say God moved me back it was God's will. If you stay in God's word he will show you the way and let you know where you need to be. Donna

The church that is spoke of in the word of God is the body of believers. It's not referring to a building of people. I personally believe that "church" is in your heart. Fear, doubt, worry, and especially feeling of not being noticed is NOT from God. God can't make someone act on the words spoken to their heart, and not all of us Christians act and speak as we should. We ought to smile and greet everyone to allow our light to shine daily not just at church. If you were ever let down at a church don't allow Satan to plant a seed of doubt, worry, or fear. Stay planted in the word, and allow God to lead your steps. Romans 12:1-2. Allow God to show you where he wants you to SERVE because that's the real reason we should go. To lift others up after a bad week. If you felt something wrong or out of place at a church; pray about how God could use you for his solution. We should pray for all of our churches to follow it's UNIQUE path. I've visited them all, and God has spoke to my heart at each one.

Try some of the other Churches- it doesn't HAVE to be a Baptist Church. There are a lot of others in town. Try one of them.

You really hit the nail on the head, God will lead us where he needs to serve, we just need to stop and listen to what God is saying, he just may be telling you that your help is needed in serving him by helping this church in welcoming all into their fold. God bless you as you have shown that we can all learn how bad experiences can help us to find ways we can be of service first to God, then to others.

I do not know which churches you have visited, and First Baptist,Henderson may be the one. If so please give it another try, or feel welcome to visit us. This is a large church and hard to get to know every one there, but I do know that there are people there that would be glad to get to know you and have you worship with them. Just let yourself be known by approaching someone or even the Pastor, and let them know you are searching for a church home. Fill out a visitors envelope with your information, Ask any one to direct you to someone that will be happy to welcome you to our Church. As I said The Pastor will be glad to welcome you and you will really get a lot out of his sermons. Sunday School is great there too, ask for someone to direct you to Sunday School directors and they will be glad to introduce to people who will give you a big welcome.
It was not FBC. I have yet to check it out yet, but thanks for the suggestion.

Calvary has several. Some for unmarried young adults, and some for married couples. And if you don't "fit" in one, they suggest moving around to find the one that suits your needs.

In my own personal experience, the Assembly Of God faith are very congenial. For example, at Henderson Metro Church, the people go out of their way to greet not only new people but other members. I am Baptist, however, and have noticed
that in the Baptist churches (here in Henderson) people are more "reserved" and don't necessarily go out of their way to greet people that they don't associate with. Maybe trying another Faith will appease you.
you
I've done AOG and u better stay away. Seen some strange things going on. speaking tongues, jumping pews, slain in the spirit, demon exorcisms and a few more. I would also avoid any church with fellowship in its name. Been there done that and it has turned my stomach in regard to religious people. Better stick with traditional and leave churches like this alone. They will take a toll on your faith. Just beware. One of these churches actually led to my wife having a nervous breakdown. Not saying the people are bad but what they believe is dangerous.

I attend New Life church. It recently relocated to Full Armor. I love the pastor, Josh, he is amazing. It is a come as you are kind of church. You are welcome no matter what you look like, what you wear, or how ugly your past is. There is a great support group there. There are some great churches in Henderson, you just have to find the one God is calling you to
