Do you morons understand what this would do to Texas economy? Or the masses that would have to exit Texas when they are no longer entitled to US benifits?(social security and Veterans benifits) Go ahead and listen to the extreme GOP party, see how much each and everyone of you lose from the United States of America !! Talk about unpatriotic, anyone who signs this BS petition, should be stripped of their citizenship !!! They do not deserve to call themselves Americans !!

Hulagirl stfu and let people have their own opinions please. The people who voted for Obama were not swayed , not caring what it could do to America, so what makes you think you could sway their opinion?

I wish Texas could, but they can't...They agreed to this after the Civil War when we reunited.

Sorry, but it cannot be done and is completely illegal as of 1866 when it was determined that each of the states entered into an irreversible compact when they became a part of the union. So, the ones judging me as wrong and clueless obviously didn't listen in history class. I'm sure if everyone really wanted it to happen, including the Obama administration, they would find a way around it, but those are the facts.

Why secede? We don't run from trouble. Texans have a secret weapon just like the Hulk, where angry all the time. There is nothing new under the sun therefore, the time has come to put our houses in order. So stick around, where going to have some fun. Have you ever manage a pile of sh..,? Well, you know sooner or later your going to get some on you.

"Suggesions" is correct. We cant secede. However we can split into 5 states, thereby increasing our representation. Just a thought.

Don't tell me to stfu !! As you stated, people are expressing their opinions, and I expressed mine. I wasn't trying to "sway" anyone's opinion. I was just bringing it to their attention that maybe the morons signing this petition, should think about what all they have to loose !! Instead of mindlessly following the extremist's without giving a thought to the repercussions of the moronic actions of a few. Just sayin !! I voted republican and now I am ashamed to be associated with the Texas Republican party. I wont make that mistake again. The actions of a few are making us all look ignorant.

Don't be an asstard. There's a lot of people that don't want to be forced to buy insurance they can't afford. Not just employers. Not all small businesses can afford to provide their employees with insurance either.

My opinion is , if you can not afford the costs of employees than maybe you should not be in business. I have worked for a couple companies who did not offer insurance, but yet the owners would drive imported sports cars and have a second home on a beach. If you offer benefits for employees, they will work harder to keep their jobs. They will be healthier, therefore less sick days. If Texas leaves the US (which they can not) Texas citizens would no longer be entitled to anything offered from the Federal government. This includes social security, Military benefits, college loans and grants, welfare programs, unemployment, and a host of other benefits we all depend on. I feel very strongly that if you do not have health insurance on your children, it is neglect. I agree that if any child is not covered, the parents should be fined and forced to find coverage for the kids. If your job does not offer coverage, then get on one of the many welfare programs for kids. If you make too much money to qualify for a program, then you can afford private coverage. There is NO excuse to not have health-care for the kids. And please stop blaming it on the Democrats, it is our job as parents to make it happen, the sad part is that some people don't plan for these costs before they have children and the government has to step in and force people to care for their children.

And you are so insanely stupid it's scary to think you have the power to reproduce. By your standards that small restaurant that employs 10 people doesn't deserve to be in business because they can't afford insurance for employees. Or that small gift shop. Or that convenience store. You obviously have never owned or ran a small business. Large companies have the ability to do that because the cost is offset by premium sharing. I worked a state job for a few years and my insurance was still over $450 a month for my family after the state paid half. Which means my total cost was $900 plus a month. Do you seriously believe that people can afford that shit? My wife worked to because she had to to offset the cost of my insurance so we could make ends meet. Which also now made us have the cost if childcare. And we damn sure didn't meet the requirements for state insurance or Medicaid since we made too much money. So you tell me and my family and all the millions of other families exactly how the hell we are supposed to afford private insurance? Can you afford $900 a month? If you can then tell me how you make enough money to do it. If you work and can meet the requirements to get state help then you don't make enough to really survive on. Basically you are talking out your ass here and have no real help to provide. You must must be some rich entitled asstard or some lazy ass won't work freeloader. Either way you are useless to the real world. Oh and Texas can leave anytime it wants to. Any state can. There's nothing that prevets any state from leaving if it wants. You should try living in the real world sometime an reading once in a while.
