Yes, that's the place. Just wondering who is operating it now and what, if any, changes have been made since the Walton's owned it.

If I remember correctly, I think it's off 259 Sth., going toward Mt. Enterprise, then go back West like cutting back to Laneville why? Someone coming there soon?

Yes.

I was wondering if anyone knew what changes, if any, will take place under the new owners.

You're right...I was just wondering if anyone knew of any changes made since the Walton's don't own it anymore.
Robert Earl Keen is supposed to be there for the Grand Opening on May 10th.

Last I heard a bunch of bikers that were like dr's & lawyers were going in together to buy it. BUT that was a couple years ago that I heard it AND this is Henderson...so....ya never know.
Anyway, when it was the Rose...we ate there one night & the food sucked! I ordered a burger and it tasted weird & the bread was a lil old kinda sour. I didnt eat a bit of it. What sucked worse was the bill. WAY overpriced for that kinda place. I couldv'e cooked better food at my house.
Anywayz hope the new owners serve up betta food.

We ate there once when it was the Rose and it was pretty good. I think the bikers went bust and the stockholders are now running it trying to salvage their investment.

Gee, you think they could have named it something that was associated with East Texas instead of Colorado or Mexico. Oh well.

Im sorry to say, but hazels daughter ran the restruant when the waltons had it, and she has it now, it sucked then , cant see it changing much now. Hazel is a *jewel* but her daughter... when i will be nice here.

The owners are investers from Houston(Indeed should love that!!!) I hope it works, but just like most things , People from around here never support something that wasnt homegrown .
If you drink a beer there the **Black & Whites* will be patrolling the road back to town big time.
Someone out there might have a slight drug problem also. Not gonna say the name , but if you go , you will be able to tell!

YEAH!!! Robert Earl....

Why do you want to be so mean? Everyone complains all the time about how there's no where to go and nothing to do in this town, yet when there is a place, people complain about everything.
I went to the Rose often - had great times down there. Always had fun in the restaurant. Local people singing & playing was fun. Had lots of parties down there - always fun. I thought the restaurant was very good then. Food was always great and we were treated great by the staff. I have only been once since it has been Durango Canyon, but the food was great then, too. It is a fun place to gather with friends in a very relaxed, casual atmosphere and just kick back and listen to some good music.
The only time I've seen a lot of "black & whites" on the road was when there was a big motorcycle rally going on. My opinion on that.......DON'T DRINK & DRIVE and you won't have to worry about it. Get a designated driver.
As for someone having a drug problem.......I haven't been able to tell.
My advice to you is that maybe you shouldn't go down there if you dislike it so much. Let the rest of us enjoy it. Hazel & her daughter are doing a great job.
