Henderson is a police abusive city.
No amount of new police will ever change that fact.
The Henderson police cannot be trusted.

Yes, and we must not forget the corrupt and unethical municipal court judges like Ken Proctor and John Provost, who has been supporting the police abuse for year's.

Its no wonder why so many people and businesses are selling out.

If anyone is looking for the terrorist just look in the City of Henderson. Terrorist hiding behind the badge and in the judicial system. If anyone wants to loose there freedom or constitutional rights just live in Henderson Nevada and soon or later you too will sell out for liberty alone.

Its a bad thing when those hired to protect your family ends up abusing it. The Mayor is just as much at fault as those in uniform, who are abusing their power and authority granted to them by the people.

There is no way, that we are voting for this mayor, in any way shape or form. Not now or not in the future elections for what ever he does. This Lame Duck mayor has been alseep at the helm allowing Henderson police to constantly harrass and abuse the residents who pay there wages.

Henderson, a Crime area!
April 14, 2006 09:38 PM EDT
The eastern part of Henderson is getting some negative police attention these days. But not attention residents living there would want. According to the new Police Chief, the area is known for drugs, shootings and violence and he wants to clean up that part of town. Chief Perkins says for the past few weeks, they have been driving through the area and watching it “kind of fall apart”. Perkins took the position of Henderson Police Chief just over two weeks ago, and is already harassing residents in hopes to make changes to cut down on crime." The problem area is bordered by Boulder Highway on the south, Lake Mead Boulevard on the west and Race Track Road on the East. Chief Perkins says there has been a lot of criminal activity in the area, "We've had a number of shootings in the last few weeks. And a number of drug related complaints, and the like." The biggest problem, he says, are the people who've recently moved to the area. So Perkins is putting more patrol officers in the area to crack down on citizens, and he's asking the City and Public Works to help clean up the neighborhood, "Towing off dead cars. Cleaning up yards. Painting over the graffiti with the court programs people. The police are taking it one step at a time systemically oppressing the taxpayers. By the beginning of next year, Perkins plans to have the police department divided into four districts. Each with their own captain, which will allow officers to be closer to the people they serve and abuse.
Another arrogant police chief who fails to understand the community or its needs.

Excessive force alleged in arrest of 84-year-old
Henderson police questioned after man hospitalized with injuries
LAS VEGAS SUN

The Henderson Police Department is investigating two officers accused of using excessive force against an 84-year-old Henderson man on a traffic stop Sunday night outside the Rainbow casino, Deputy Chief Monty Sparks, head of internal affairs, said Wednesday.

A minor traffic violation landed Charles Grant Walker in the hospital after he refused to sit down on the ground as ordered by police because of a disability, his lawyer Leo Flangas said. The 5-foot-11, 200-pound man was in St. Rose Dominican Hospital with five broken ribs, a fractured hip, a sprained wrist and multiple contusions, Flangas said.

"He's a good guy. He didn't deserve this," said Stephanie Fox, a family friend and regular Rainbow customer.

Flangas maintained that all of Walker's injuries came from the traffic encounter with police. He alleges that police ignored the man's injuries at the Henderson Detention Center and forced him to "lie on the concrete in his own blood" before someone realized how badly he was hurt. Paramedics had to remove Walker from the jail cell on a gurney because he couldn't get into a wheelchair, Flangas said.

Henderson Police Chief Michael Mayberry said he had seen photos of Walker in the hospital and was very concerned about Walker's well-being and the reputation of the Henderson Police Department.

"As police chief, I have directed Internal Affairs to give this investigation the highest priority," Mayberry said at a news conference Wednesday afternoon. "This investigation will be thorough, it will be comprehensive, and we will leave no stone unturned."

Police officials refused to comment further on the case, except to add that the officers involved, David Tomlinson and W. Seekatz, remain on active duty.

The officers wrote in the police report that they used only necessary force to arrest Walker after he refused to follow direct orders, then resisted arrest.

According to police reports, Tomlinson first flashed his lights when Walker was stopped in the intersection of Army and Market streets waiting for a parking spot to open up. Walker pulled into the parking space, exited his car and began shouting angrily at Tomlinson, the report said.

Tomlinson used pepper spray and an arm bar to force Walker to the ground after the elderly man repeatedly refused his orders to stop in front of the patrol vehicle, the report said. After beating him down, Tomlinson reported that Walker was only bleeding slightly over his right eye and on his left hand, but that he was cleared at the scene by emergency personnel. He was booked for parking in an intersection, resisting a public officer and obstructing a peace officer and is scheduled to be arraigned in Henderson Justice Court Aug. 7."He's a happy-go-lucky guy. He never yells at anybody," said Fox, who added she and her mother have been visiting Walker daily at the hospital. "I've seen people say mean things to him, and he just let it slide off his back.

"I think he was just trying to them know he's disabled, that he has trouble getting down on the ground," she said. "He had a bad hip and he's an 84-year-old man, and 84-year-old men have trouble getting around."Walker has lived in the Henderson area for 30 years, Flangas said. A widower, he was visiting the Rainbow on Sunday night for dinner, where he eats most of his meals."He goes there three times a day -- breakfast, lunch and dinner," Flangas said. "The ritual makes him feel better. There is a close-knit family of senior citizens at the Rainbow Club."

Henderson police lossed control and abused their power and authority taking it out on an elderly 84 year old resident. Nothing was done to the police.

Police loose control again. A 49-year-old woman is recovering after a Henderson police officer was forced to shoot her outside her home. Police say Regina Hunt called 911 and threatened to kill her sleeping husband and then herself in a cry for help. Police sent a SWAT team to the house early Tuesday morning, where they confronted the woman. One of the officers fired his weapon at the woman. The woman was shot twice and taken to University Medical Center. Her husband was not injured in the incident. Henderson police say they been called to Hunt's home for previous suicide threats and attempts, the most recent being in January. At that time, she was taken for a psychiatric evaluation and again nothing was done to the police.

I have heard alot of bad things about hendo police from friends. I think that LVMPD is far more corrupt than LAPD. Thats because the media is los aangeles. The media in vegas ignores this corrupt PD. The police have nothing to worry about untill people organize some protests and bring media cameras. Check out october 22nd to learn more.

News Flash: The City of Henderson will gain 139 new full-time employees in the coming year, almost half of them within the police department, under a $516.5 million budget approved Tuesday. The spending plan adds a total of 61 police positions, including 43 patrol officers paid for through the quarter-cent sales tax increase that took effect Oct. 1."To put that in perspective, we have about 300 (patrol officers) now, so it's a pretty sizeable increase," interim Henderson Police Chief Richard Perkins said. Perkins expects residents to notice the change where it matters most. Hiding motorcycle officers on each corner to create speed traps and harass motorist. Oppress residents through excessive force and writing thousand of motor citations. Further money will come from property tax increase from more than $60.7 million this fiscal year to $68 million in the next. City council member Derrick insists the city's staff remains lean and mean. You heard it right folks,“MEAN” towards Henderson taxpayers and residents. The police are already abusive and mean, now they are advertising it. Henderson is a police abusive city.

I am new to LV, just moved.
I am not doubting anyone here.
I have heard a lot of stuff too.
And, really, really not trying to make a big deal...since moving here 6 months ago, somthing like 6 people have been shot.
But.....I noticed all but Kojak are from other cities. Why do you post on about Henderson PD?
Or LV PD? It seems that you have a lot of info, and hate against a system that isnt even your city.
We as citizens of our own cities, have many ways to take action against what we see as abuse etc. Believe me, I am watching what is happening. Hell, I can't tell you how many times I have gone to the seattle PD's upper echelons, and Internal Affairs, for dealings not correct. Get the officers badge number, write to his supperiors, and IA. Things happen. Go to the media. In your own city.
But, almost everyone here, is not from LV.
May I ask why, post so vehemently, on other cities, not your own?
Just trying to understand here.

I was born here. And not yesterday by the way.
One day, not too long ago, I was out rock hunting in the desert. Intent on looking at the ground, I didn't notice them roll up on me. Didn't notice until I heard "put your hands in the air", "yeah, you". Looked up and saw 4 of them (and two chevy Tahoe's, they all drive Tahoe's because we keep donating MORE of our money). They had their weapons drawn on me. They asked what I had in my backpack, rocks I said. They said "rocks?" as if that was the most ridiculous thing ever. The youngest, a Howdie Doodie look alike, said "no, not her, it's coming from up there" and pointed to the nearby mountains. They searched my backpack (of rocks). I didn't have ID on me so they called in my sosh, but the computers were down. I stood there with my knees shaking, they still had their weapons out, but no longer pointed at me. Finally somebody made the tough decision that a 40ish unarmed woman rockhunting didn't pose a threat and let me go. They took off in the direction of the shots being fired (target practice, whew! scary stuff) and I ran home on my shaky legs before I peed.
Since when are we required to carry ID at all times? Where is it written? I was TWO BLOCKS from my house. They have gone too far.
WAKE UP! It can happen to you!

Ok, I agree, that is bullshit!
I understand.

Did you ask for a badge number, have you written to thier superior's, as to what happened? Make a written complaint to Internal Affairs! Explain what they looked like etc. Let IA, know that you will not stand for that! Or, thier condescending attitude.
Change can happen, when enough people act, on thier outrage. Especially when enough complaints come into Internal Affairs. I have done this myself.

Legally, you have every right to, not be rude etc. but to stand up for yourself, and ask for badge numbers, and why they are treating you like a criminal, when you are not. Always look at thier badge number, if you can, write it down in front of them, so they can see you dointg it.(obviously, you didnt have a purse to do so) but, ask, you have every right to do so. Calmly, ask for badge numbers, and thier immediate superiors name. If they give you attitude, tell them you have the legal right to know this. Then, follow through, and write the letters, calmly, with out name calling etc. Let IA know of the approx. time, place etc, what the officers looked like, and how you were treated. You are paying thier paycheck, they work for you.

Now I know why, when asking people, before we moved her, we were told to not move to Henderson, nor anywhere in N.Las Vegas.

Thank you for a first hand experiance, with all the details, so I can understand. The guy from Michigan, is whom I was mainly talking to, in his rants about LV, when he obviously doesnt live here. And temnds to rant about the bad gov't, bad cops conspiracy crap.
