1 min ago It is so sad. I have sat here and read pages and pages of postings from all of you arguing, like YOU have lost something. Well we did. My brother is married to Lindsay and Maggie's sister. We were just with them Thanksgiving. I blame the driver and the cop, they both made poor decisions and oh by the way, my brother was a cop, my sister is a cop and so is her husband but yes I still partially blame the cop and SO DO THEY because they have the training to know the chase should have stopped. But the main blame lies with the driver. My point is, 99 percent of you on here DO NOT KNOW Lindsay or Maggie but you are raising hell at each other, calling each other names, just hating on one another, how sad, this should prove we have no idea when our last day is and that we should spend every minute wisely NOT as a wise a**!

Are you talking about the incident when the two girls got killed on 15? I travel this road everyday and when i get at that point i always flash my lights off and on if its dark so whoever is on the other side can see someone is coming not that it will make a difference. I have had people still pass me there. It is dangerous.

Does anyone remember the police chase on 85 about 5 years ago when the hispanice man had a woman held hostage and was making her drive while he had a gun pointed at her. The cops chased him for god knows how long and it was shown on the television live like the O.J. Simpson chase. They followed him and made people stay back because at one point someone pulled up beside the man and he pointed his gun at them. I can image the terror of the lady. I think it was after they finally hit close to or at the Virginia line they threw out the spikes. Personally i would have took a chance on shootiing the man in the back of the head while following him even if it would have made the lady scared and maybe wreck but atleast i dont think the wreck would have killed her. After the spikes were threw out and it made the auto do whatever he shot and killed her. Personally if they had of shot through the back glass and killed him she might be alive today. Opinions are like ass holes we all have one and this is just mine. Dont do a high speed chase if you know for sure the person you are chasing is a criminal instead shoot through the back glass and just kill them before they kill a innocent person. Maybe that will cause a wreck but i think the innocent still stand a better chance of living. That poor lady had no chance and was probably wondering the whole time she was driving why dont the police do something besides keep following us. I can only imagine what was going through her mind.

Shoot through the back glass of a moving vehicle from a moving vehicle? Reality isn't like Hollywood.

If NOBODY chases, they have no reason to run. They all have radios, why not use them instead of speed? My ex son-in-law was watched for hours, going from one crack house to another, before the law even decided to stop him.Guess what?He ran, they chased. All over the county, and nearly hitting a trailor of children.Several officers came to the house and waited. If they KNEW where he was coming back to,why did they risk killing others on the road by chasing him?Not to mention,at one time during the chase, they claimed they had lost him on a dirt road, that did nothing but circle right back to the main road, and both ends were guarded.KEYSTONE KOPS,or BORED OFFICERS?

Go Granny...my thoughts exactly. They have radios. They won't lose the person. I dated a few cops..that loved the "high speed chases" they did. And they would sit around and compare & brag about it, while drinking beer or whatever else with their cop buddies.

If you don't know who Samuel Cooper is, he just confessed to five murders in the Raleigh area. That makes him a serial killer. He was being chased for a bank robbery. He would break into homes at night and shoot the victims. He made a statement that he usually kills anyone in the homes. He thought he killed four more people during his home invasions, but they survived gunshot wounds to the head. If the police just quit the chase, there is no doubt in my mind this man would continue to kill until he was caught. Keep in mind, they did not know this man was a suspect in these killings and the vehicle was not registered to him, so there is no "get his tag and get him later". All the yhave to do is get the tags radio ahead. You can't outrun radios. Most cops love highspeed chases. They get an adrenalin rush. I dated a few back in the day.

Yeah but in a life or death situation with a wanted murderer, People that are high or drunk are not thinking rational....and will not stop. Only when it's a kidnapping or something extreme should they give chase.

I would support murder charges against any and all LEO for this adrenaline filled joy ride. There is very few occasions when someone should be chased, If they have a victim in the vehicle with them, that might would require action, but other than that chasing is entirely to dangerous, and to the poster that said most of the time the officers know who they are chasing, and the next poster said he was a idiot!!! when in fact, most officers do know who they are chasing, as if you was to look over public records, 8 of 10 that are in jail are repeat offenders, ALOT of officers are way to cocky once they get thier badge!!!

send officers ahead, and throw tack strips, no chase, his car is not functional at this point and no one gets hurt of killed, all officers should have tack strips, our county has finally done that after arguing the need of tack strips for a number of years, cheaper than a life, every officer could have these in thier cars at all times

That seems to be a problem locally - the cops don't know how to use them.
