What a sad place this world will be without Twinkies and Ding Dongs. Thanks, Obama.

What's sad is the number of jobs that will be lost yet again. If our current elected officials don't pull their heads out of their asses and compromise on things our country is doomed.

Do you feel the need to argue on every topic you post on? It's about jobs! Look at how many jobs are going to be lost with this closure. Stop being a drama queen kid and just "go away". Jeez you're life must be missing something really important for you to want to argue all the time. Jobs are being lost jackass regardless of union or not. Our elected officials have the power to create jobs and need to do it. You need to spend less time on here creating drama and more time reading and understanding current events.

Who's arguing? Not me! I just said its the Unions fault NOT congresses! It's not about "creating" jobs by our elected officials, it's about saying jobs by the Unions. Take your own advice and understand current events and stop trying to argue with everybody.

Ok your daily lesson. Our elected officials offer tax breaks and incentives to existing and future business which allow these businesses to be able to compete at an effective cost with their overseas competition. The elected officials also control sanctions and impose taxes and tariffs that affect competitors of our usa companies. If they quit bickering and start compromising it is in their power to help create new jobs and save existing ones.

The CEO of hostess told them I they didn't quit striking they were going to shutdown. Thank your greedy union officials for 18,500 more people receiving unemployment benefits for 99 weeks.
This also shows democrats (unions) will not give unless they get what they want.
Look how that worked out for ya dumb shits

Hostess has been in denial of internal mismanagement issues within their upper echelon for years.

They've also been in dire financial straits for several years and have already filed corporate bankruptcy twice in the relatively recent past. With their now proposed shutting down and selling off of all operations a third bankruptcy is inevitable.

Whether represented by a labor union or not, you can't expect any blue collar workforce to simply shrug off and accept severe wage and benefit cuts to make up for losses due to poor management decisions when all the while upper management continues to reward themselves with obscenely huge raises, bonuses, and expense accounts.
