I went to med 1st about 2 yrs ago, I went there for about 9 months. I was having pain from a previous broken back. the doctor made me try "ultram" for 2 months and wouldn't even consider writing me a script for a narcotic. after 2 months of the ultram not working, the doctor order me to get steroid shots in my back regularly then wrote me a script for lortab 7.5 for 90 of those a month. I had to come back to see the doctor every month to get my script. and if I didn't get my shots in my back then she wouldn't write me a script. there was nothing illegal or wrong about my visits there. however, there are people who go there with old broke injuries and take advantage to just get pills bcuz they are addicted. but med 1st won't just give u pills just bcuz u walk in and say u are hurting. they will X-ray u and make sure that u have legitimate reason for pain. instead of running people down for having an addiction, u should open ur eyes and heart to get to know them and help them. u might realize ur not that much different. ur not a bad person just bcuz you've made mistakes and become addicted to something. everyone falls and needs help getting back up. I think med 1st will be reopened bcuz the doctor does keep proper paper work and follows procedure.

Tell ya what! I went in there for an interview a few weeks back....that place was full of "questionable" people! Parking lot so full I had to park across the street. Waiting room so full that they were lined up down the hall! I had to stand in a corner at the front desk for 40 minutes while waiting to be interviewed! All the while I'm standing there I hear the people waiting saying "if I didn't need my tabs I'd leave" and I wouldn't come here but no one else will write me tabs"! After waiting for 40 minutes for an interview, they took me to the back in a little exam room with nothing but a curtain and had me wait again! I was just about to walk out when the lady finally came in to do the interview! She seemed very excited about my work history until I started asking questions like, "do you guys have a lot of trouble with people drug seeking" and "do you run Kaspers and Indot's on your patients regularly?" ( those are pharmacy reporting sites so a doctor can see what other controlled medications a person is getting and from whom. They prevent people using multiple doctors to obtain drugs) once I stated asking these questions, the lady's attitude changes and she ended the interview abruptly! I'd say they didn't want anyone working there who was going to question their dispensing practices!!! So thankful I didn't get that job!!!

The injections have little to no scientific research proving to be effective or safe, but in this country you don't need comprehensive or profound proof in order to be certified, start a business, and offer incredibly easy (see expensive) treatments that may possibly do more harm to the spine, facets, and nerve tissues surrounding them. It isn't med1st it is ALL pain clinics and there isn't a single one that will compassionately care for their patients and dedicate time to healing their injuries. The entire pain management system is fraud and a catastrophic loop that many patients find themselves forcibly put into.

Has anyone thought maybe its the people abusing the system not the offices fault. I broke my foot and my doc gave me pain pills I didn't use them and never filled the bottle. I don't want to get hooked on something I had a very hard time to stop smoking I know if I used the pills I would like them. If you don't like the place don't go there but they didn't feed the pills to the people. The person took the pills.

The Hippocratic Oath states:
I will prescribe regimens for the good of my patients according to my ability and my judgement and NEVER DO HARM TO ANYONE. These doctors over prescribing narcotics will eventually be caught red handed! They are simply a drug dealers supplier. The DEA would not be there if they didn't have incriminating evidence. If there is wrong doing they WILL find out.

Who takes the pills. People need to stop blaming everyone else for there own problems. The docs that give the meds do not intend for you to get hooked why do you think they ask personal questions before hand about drinking, smoking, and drug use? They do the best they can.

But the blame where if belongs the people who choose to abuse this pain med and sell them,if they'd would use them as prescribed and not take the whole month supply in one week, then lay in bed the next 3 weeks complaining about pain,we as people have a choose to either take drugs as needed or become a junkie, legalize all drugs let the weak destroy theyself if they choose,do we still live in a free country,I think not,we as people should have a choose to as we please to ourselves,

People need to take responsibility for what they do. A gun has never killed anyone people have. A script a doc writes is just a piece of paper you give it the power when you abuse it, and by the way it's not the bartenders fault if you get drunk it's yours. So own up to your own stuff.

They should pass a law to let all drug offenders in America to be released from prison, then take that money and divide it to community's to rebuild and have things for kids to do,and better our community, prison should be for murder rape and violet crimes,we are just spending money on top of money we don't have, then wonder why the dollar is going down and gas and food going up.

What do you mean they don't intend for the patient to get hooked?? Doctors know narcotics carry an almost 100% addiction when used for chronic pain. Narcotics cause chemical dependency period all doctors know this and if they choose to support a patients drug habit in order to pocket insurance money or a every two week copayment their a** needs to be shut down!

No but it's the bartenders fault if they continue to serve you knowing you are highly intoxicated. Your comments are uneducated and neglectful. If a doctor continues to prescribe narcotics knowing their patient is addicted is being negligent and wrong!

I have had several hand surgeries and have been given lortabs each time for pain and have only taken when needed. So no it is not a 100% addiction rate. I can get them any time I want but am not a drug addict so I don't get them. They did make me feel better but I never abused so your logic is wrong. Just so you know I am addicted to nicotine so I could easily have gotten addicted to pain pills but I made a rational decision not to let myself do so. So grow up people. It is not the drugs fault it is the user and I am proof.

Chronic pain is a condition of the mind. People don't need narcotics they need shrinks.
