Waiting for the library to open this morning and saw two postal workers (they were in their uniforms) pull into the library parking lot, get out of their vehicles, and walk down to the post office. The parking lot at the library has a sign at both ends that says "Parking for Library Patrons, Only"

I mean, you can't get a parking space at the Post Office parking lot because all the employees are parked there. Pretty soon you won't be able to get one at the library.

I do know that the postal workers use to park in the parking lot at the tennis courts, but since they re-did the courts and lot, the city keeps a pretty good eye on that parking lot and won't let the postal workers park there anymore.

Maybe the Post Office should build a parking lot for their employees.

I don't think the Post Office owns any more land to build a parking lot.

Well cry me a river of tears cause you couldnt park at the Library, well you can blame your infamous City Commissioners for the parking fiasco. You are correct they wont let the Postal Workers park at the Precious Tennis Courts that we didnt need in the first place, kinda like the infamous "Welcome Center" thats always empty. Everyone wants their mail but wont let the Henderson Postal Workers park their vehicles anywhere. Hmmm why not let them park at the empty parking lot where the welcome center is since it's always empty. Ohh by the way it's a Public Library therefore if Im a Postal Worker I have every right to park there because I pay my taxes as well to utilize their parking spaces.

I think the postal service is on its way out. Employee inefficiency, retiree legacy costs, the advent of UPS, Fed-Ex and email have made them non-competitive and un-necessary.

Soon there will be plenty of parking spaces.

When there are events at the riverfront (Handy Fest, Tri-Fest, etc) people park in the post office parking lot, then post office customers don't have any place to park.

When you get down to it...people are gonna park where they want to park...regardless.

People been saying the postal service is on its way out for a while now, but neither UPS or FED-EX could deliver the package volume that the post office already does. Take a look behind the post office between 9 and 10 am and you'll see the UPS truck dropping packages off for the post office to deliver for them. FED-EX is there earlier. As for emails, more people text now so email is becoming obsolete and doesn't matter but computers do help because of orders like through Amazon which is giving a contract to the postal service. And as for parking, that worthless Welcome Center that I have never seen more than three cars in the parking lot, is a waste of space. Plus to put a time limit on the tennis court parking spots was just stupid.

I'm hoping I can get Ron Jenkins at The Gleaner to take up this cause. I mean, he's already on the warpath about riding bikes and skateboard on The Riverfront Walkway.

I'm with him; if it's a walkway, it's for walkers; if it's for library parking, it's for library parking only.

Apparently Henderson Taxpayer, you apparently dont have something called a "JOB" that you have to go to on a daily basis, but let me guess I'll bet you & liberal w. go & check your mail on a daily basis. Yeah kinda funny the same people that have no idea how the Postal Service operates are the same ones that sit around & complain about it, especially the one's around the 1st & 3rd of the Month. Try sending a Parcel to England for $20-30 costs, guess what it's not happening. Try sending a envelope to a Combat War zone for 46 cents via UPS & FedEx and see how far it gets. LOL, I'll park at the Library if I feel like it, like I said before it's a Public Library, call your buddy R. Jenkins all you want, I pay my Taxes as well if I decide to go to the library after I get off my job, thats my choice, Not Your's!!! The poster that posted about that no good welcome cent hit it right on the head, the only 3 cars you see there on any giving day are the employees that work there. Next time you need to cut the budget how about doing away with thoses unecessary jobs not to mention that Meter Maid employee, wow three city blocks & she cant walk that route and monitor parking with a handheld device, the Postal People seem walk alot further with more weight on their shoulders (LOL).

Ohh by the way Henderson Taxpayer, the City of Henderson Road Dept., does not have a "Tow Truck" in it's fleet of vehicles. Good luck having the city towing my vehicle (LMAO).

Nope, they don't have a tow truck, but they do have a meter maid and police officers authorized to write parking violation tickets.

I might even mention to the meter maid about the Tahoe that keeps getting parked in the library parking lot all day, even though there is a sign at both ends saying "For Library Patrons Only". There are also several parking lots in downtown where you can pay a monthly rental for.

Well then let's see you get off your lazy ass and do a better job at delivering the mail, it's not as easy as it look's.. putting up with the different weather conditions, not to mention having to deal with people's animals, fighting traffic,,and do you even realize how many people there are in this town? Not everyone can get their mail at the same time you moron.. So if you have an issue with it then you go get a job at the postal service and lets see how you do at it.. or even how long you last.. cause let me tell you.. all you can do is sit back behind your computer and bitch about your damn mail..

You idiots are nothing but overpaid pizza delivery boys. And you are a complete failure doing it. No wonder you clowns are the most inefficient government service. Losing money by the hundreds of millions for your horrible service. I told you to get a real job and earn an honest wage instead of stealing taxpayer money for sitting on Ur fat ass in a vehicle putting paper in boxes.
That's funny seeing I don't work for the postal service.. so now who's the idiot.. Im just a citizen that pays my taxes, and see's how badly they get treated and how hard they work to bring you your mail, so what if it's a little late, at least someone gives a damn to do their job to deliver it for your lazy ass, that won't do it.. so stop b&tching about it and deal with it.. you get your wal mart add so go shoping with the rest of the freaks and leave the real world to go on about their business.

LMAO, boo hoo typical moron's bashing the Postal Service, yet 98.7 percent of them "Will Check Their Mailbox" today looking for some sort of check Duhh!!! The only work ethic employment job they have requires them to say "Would You Like Fries With That" language. Henderson Taxpayer, if I park at the library parking lot at 7am & leave my tahoe parked there and visit the library after I get off work, that's my right to do so. Oh, by the way the Meter Maid Lady clocks off at 4:30-5:00 pm, there is "NOT" a time restriction posted on the sign therefore legally you "CANNOT" issue a parking citation. Try getting in contact with her after 5, not going to happen. Now how do you intend to prove Im not a patron at the library, I can honestly tell you Henderson Police Officers wont be checking inside the library to see who's parked at their lot. LMAO

Hey Going Postal, what glamorous place of employment do you work at? Ohh by the way USPS was hiring last month so if your not happy with where your working at you should have applied to the so-called overpaid delivery boy job (LMAO), while your sitting on your lard-ass behind a computer let's see if you can do a better job. Furthermore you & every other household will continue to receive junk mail and "I WILL BE" gainfully employed. Ohh by the way let's see if you check "YOUR" mailbox tommorrow. See Ya Loser!!!
