You ask the question on your survey How are we doing at the Methodist Er well this is how i feel you are doing . You are doing so poorly that i can not even describe it . The Doctors there treat the person not the symptom of the patient . He looks at there Kasper report and once he sees that then they make there decision . Yet the drug dealers and the pot heads can come in and get anything they ask for . They look ar me and they say oh she's been here more than once in fact she has been here at lease once a month or so . I try and explain that i dont have insurance to go to a doctor and i want to know what people like me are supposed to do . Are we just supposed to sit and deal with the pain ? apparently thats what i am supposed to do , because i have been placed on "Care Program now they tell u that that's for people who come in with the same complaint and that they only going to give certain medicines . But for people like me who have no other means of seeing a doctor a person who takes medicine the right way and for the right reason that means DO NOT GIVE THIS WOMAN ANY NARCOTICS BECAUSE SHE IS A DOPE HEAD AND IS ONLY HERE FOR A FIX PROGRAM. But yet the real dope heads and pot heads can come and get anything they want . U call this a care program i call it discrimination against me and people like me . These people need to me investagated for giving drugs to known drug dealers . Its the Doctors who needs the KASPER report not the patients because its the doctors who are giving the medicine out too the drug addicts and the dealers and the pot heads not the patient . SO i say check in to them not us . As for your Er i would not recommend them to treat my dog much less me . THey treat the person not the symptom and they always make u wait hours upon hours before they even see u and when u look out the door to see what they are doing they 9 times out of 10 just sitting around chit chatting with their friends and here we sit waiting .

So youd rather "pay" a $1000 ER visit than pay $200 for a dr visit?? Makes no sense. Go to the MOMs clinic.

But she is right . If you have no money or insurance you have no choice . You go to the er or suffer.

I also agree with this above comment, I have no clue what KASPER is but my wife was placed on the hospitals care plan due to multiple visits to the er by recomendation of her dr, we were told that since she has chronic abdominal pain due to a illness she needed to go to a pain management instead of er but her Dr disagreed and laughed when we told him what they told us! Its sad that everyone gets judged without knowing the underlying problem

Moms clinic is $125 for first time visit and $75 after that, we are all not as fortunate to have insurance or extra cash when we or our children get sick

Doesn't Henderson have a free clinic somewhere? Go there.

These doctors make no sense to me. Kasper is a electronic way physicians can track a controlled substance prescription, the doctor prescribing, quantity and frequency. And yes I know what I'm talking about! It's a crappy way ER docs fall back and refuse care...it's a joke and not AT ALL what the Kasper was intended for. An emergency room can not refuse medication or treatment if you have a extensive report. They are doctors and took an oath to treat not to play police officer. If Methodist Hospital is utilizing Kasper wrongfully it is against the law and the oath they took as doctors period.

I have never ever heard of any formal, "Free Clinic", per se, such as those that large cities have, located anywhere in Henderson, unless she is referring to the Henderson County Health Department.

The Health Dept. will administer preventative health care at a reduced fee, or free of charge in some cases, based on income, certain basic items such as required vaccinations to children, flu and pneumonia vaccines, birth control information and products, STD checks and medications, etc., etc.

I don't believe I've ever heard that they diagnose and/or treat all types of health issues nor prescribe and provide strictly controlled drugs.

No. I thought that a local retired doctor ran a free health clinic. I can't remember what doctor though....maybe it is closed.

You are wrong. An emergency room has only to treat you until stable. They don't HAVE TO give you anything. JS
