I feel this is a major step back in the TONH building department. Who wants to come foward now when someone as corrupt and vindictive as him is aqquited. This is still the tip of the iceberg because there are still plenty of other isssues with Thomas McDonough shake down practices. I know of many contractors including myself that he put through hell because we did not play his dirty ball game. I feel the district attorney's office should continue to investigate some more and they will find something else to convict him on. For as long as McDonough is in the office there will be a cloud over their heads.

I think you were "put through hell" as you say because you finally met a building inspector who played by the rules, could not be bought and would not look the other way. This was quite a different practice from the way it use to be.I guess you are just use to cutting corners or saying who is going to know. I feel sorry for anyone you did work for.

McDonough may have been guilty or innocent,but the DA's Office was guilty of prosecutorial misconduct. They blew it big time. Can anyone really trust what they do now?

i am ready to show the DA a job that was aproved for a drywell by this inspector for $100 he aproved the drywell that did not exist and was never instaled.

Hey 1130 Port .How about when Tom recomended houses be condemed in Westbury ,and stirred the sale to his partners B V s Dad.Whos daughter is a big DEM.Is that an act of a good inspector, a rule follower?.So much more .Look foward to watching the next Screw up by all involved.
