The brick building on acacia and fairview, was an old holistic center, for natural alternatives for treatment. it closed decades ago. It's now privately owned, but it wasn't an insane asylum(used to live next to it)

The building on acacia/fairview across from Valle Vista Elementary used to be a healing center as others have said.
I used to live on that street, and during elementary school they took us on a tour there. Dolly Parton, Kenny Rogers, John Wayne, and many others supposedly visited there back in the day according to the tour guide.
It was never an insane asylum. It was more like a spa with alternative medical treatments for whatever ailed them at the time. A resort or retreat, whatever you wanna call it.
It was very pretty inside there when we visited, after that it wasn't taken care of for awhile but the last time I drove past it (a few years ago) the really old sign was still up on the corner of Acacia that said the name of the place. I can't remember it right now though.
very safe

It was called meadowlark.

As kids we used to ride our bikes through the resort and get the security guard to chase us, usually ditching him in the riverbed or orange groves. Fun times growing up in Valle Vista.

The insane asylum is NOT hiltop monor thats the one that is on top of the hill. The insane asylum is down stetson all the way until the road ends then make a right then the road splits you go strait or left, go STRAIT if you go left you will end up going to the prison. but you go strait and that road ends then you have to walk up the dirt road into the orange groves and its not the first house but its the second one you cant see it from the street. and its gated which is why you should park your car down the street so the cops dont come :) hope that helped.!
tell me exactly how to get there thanks

I've taken a tour of the entire house. Top to bottom side to side. This is the house located by HHS off of Stetson. Was built b some folks who moved to CA in early 1900's. don't know what state they came from but wherever they lived before did not have earthquakes. Yup you guessed it, the first earthquake that hit Hemet after their move and the entire family was outa here. It ha sat vacant since, for the most part. Sorry guys. This is no insane assylum. Just an old concrete house with a run down carriage house ( that's the smaller building) belonging to a family looking for the glitz and glamour of the early 1900's publicized CA dream.

The house has since been restored and is a private residence. The 'insane asylum' is located on Fairview, almost across the street from the library in Valle Vista. And it was not an asylum, but a detox/wellness center. Because the place catered to wealthy and famous who wanted privacy, it had a secretive, scary vibe with it. The real insane asylum? Try the Scientology building over in Gilman Springs.

RE: The old house on stetson and hemet st.(little lake rd for ya old timers)
Well youngsters, heres a little history lesson for ya,
That old house on the hill is just that, a house. I grew up in that neighborhood and as a kid used to play around that house often.(it was even spookier then) an old lady lived there who cared for her disabled husband who we rarely ever saw, he was in a wheelchair. I do remember speaking to the old lady one time and she told me the house was about 60 yrs old.(she didnt care for a nosy kids snoopin around her house, but she was quite sane)That was about forty yrs ago. In recent years the place was purchased and completely remodeled and converted to a care facility that shortly after closed down. sorry no insane asylum but you can pretend if you want.

the old facility on fairview and acacia might be a better candidate for a ghost story lol
