HEMET: Outgoing manager says city has improved
The biggest change since he was hired as interim city manager in December 2012 is that the City Council voted Nov. 12 to begin formal talks to contract for fire services to Riverside County, spelling the end for the city's 108-year-old department.

Hemet residents will rue the day they let news services manipulated
by the business sector con them into electing Council members who
could be misled into hiring this manager. A capable, conscientious
public servant would not give City powers away to County Supervisors
who are routinely fooled-coerced-bought by that same business sector.
Centralizing powers into County government is the most effective
weapon of land developers and their accomplices in the banking,
contracting and material supply industries for extorting the wealth
of citizens through taxes and utility bills. Hemet residents will no
longer be able to speak our firmly to persons they can influence
about obvious inefficiency that exposes them to greater hazard.
The promise that this will save money for the City is wholly false,
residents will pay more but increases will be hidden within a wide
range of higher fees, penalties, surcharges and rate increases.

You're just a government union pig, who's finally on the losing end of the stick.

Sure the city is better off now than b4. There really is less crime. The lowlifes are all either leaving Hemet, or are turning into good citizens. And our lousy local fire department is being replaced by Cal Fire. Hemet is now a model city. And if you believe all of this, you are a moron. This place is a dump, and you can thank our fearless leaders.

True that, Hemet is going to Hell in a hand-basket.

Hemet is trying to do the best they can with what they've got. Hiring Ron Bradley for an outside looksie was the best move they've made in years. Their fire service is a union full of incompetent nit wits. Cal Fire will be a marked improvement and provide paramedic service as well. Hemet needs some development in business and retail. The Garrett Center proposed is a good step. Finally public safety has done a great job despite being cut year after year - any more cuts and they too will have to be rented from the county...

Ron Bradley did absolutely nothing while employed in Hemet.. Oops, he did sleep during council meetings and collect approximately $200k of taxpayer money.
Cal Fire is, at best, junior varsity. No thanks.

Stolen video survellience camera. We live in west Hemet. On a quiet cul-de-sac and have had a rash of nasty neighbor problems here.
This morning we were awaken by someone yanking one of our cameras off of the garage. We have an excellent photo of the guy's face/clothing and also his accomplice whom my husband chased back to their red 4 door compact that now has a dent in the passenger door.
We called the police within 5 minutes. Report was taken over the phone. Photos will be turned into the HPD. There are other clues about the two young male thieves. WE WANT OUR CAMERA BACK!!!

You did welll in defending your home.
Hopefully you and neighbors will cooperate in community defense
by networking to inform yourselves about the basics of community
planning and management. so that you can make good voting
decisions or better yet, volunteer your services as public officials.
Police cannot get it all done, they need your assistance.
Hemet has ample natural resources to meet all needs if its
citizens work together to identify all community planning
options, estimate the costs/benefits of each, and agree on
where they want their government to go.
Politicians will do what capable, deeply concerned citizens
want done if these folks are fully aware of what they could
have and the true costs/savings of good planning.
