Seems Jerry's ego won't allow him to quietly go away. Should be a fun display as there is a cast of characters lined up to reveal some unprofessional antics while in office. Jerry... Save yourself ... Run ... As in away

You have no clue. There used to be a lot of hard working, civic minded employees that cared about this community like family. Employees who worked hard for the community they loved.

Many of those employees re-located and took less pay in lieu of benefits and the fact it was a quiet, safe place to raise our families.

Now, the current administration is taking away those benefits we were promised years ago in lieu of lower pay and are selling those jobs to the highest bidder.... breaking the promises even though those employers held up their end, kept their word.

Rank and file City employees had not had cost of living increases or pay rsises in years.... But administration did, and some of those I nbrad were more than some employees made in asn entire year. Many employees were topped out, and would never see another raise for the next ten years...but would always continue to work hard for ther citizens of the community.

Now your local government is no more involved than an absentee slumlord property owner collecting the rent, but not giving a damn about the community our it's citizens....whether he rents to a crack whore or drug dealer and could care less about the neighbors that have to tolerate the degradation of their quiet little neighborhood...as long as they get their money.

The current council is bought and paid for and crooked as the day is long. If you are too naive to see what is going on under your noise, then you deserve what you get.

Bottom line is we all took pay cuts. I did in the private world and you are not exempt from that. If you dont like it leave. Something tells me you won't because you won't be able to find a job elsewhere. So be thankfull your working, put a smile on your face and move on.

Cant reason or argue with ignorant people. You sound like a disgruntled "wanted to be" in a union slob! Sorry you couldn't pass muster, but don't hate those that did!

Ha, Hemet is a joke now. I left and found a great job elsewhere and the city I work for cares and came together to find out a solution to the problem without creating infighting amongst everyone, including fighting between citizens and city employees. The grass is way greener on the other side people. Left a year ago and it's the best thing I have ever done, not only for me but my family as well. Still working on moving out of this valley but not a high priority right now because my kids aren't of high school age yet and don't have to go to the schools here. I was thankful to have a job but was tired of the ho hum private sector being on a witch hunt when 10 years ago the same private sector that is on a witch hunt now were sitting fat and happy and looking down at city employees saying they wouldn't do our jobs if they doubled our pay. Well guess things have changed and let the whining begin. There are plenty of jobs out there, just look and you will find them, I'm telling you, take a chance it will be worth it. Stress free and don't have to deal with the lame and stupid politics of this town. Oh and you are likely to make quite a lot more elsewhere too which is a perk as well

As I like to say, "oh, to be young & dumb again".

Murrieta, Riverside and Beaumont may not have a more ignorant city council & city manager (well, Riverside comes in a close second place), but they are ALL as financially f**ked as Hemet. And don't get too cocky, junior. EVERY city has drama & politics. It comes in waves and it sounds like high tide hasn't hit over there yet.

Keep livin' the dream, son. You've still got a lot to learn...

Its not the city unions or private sectors fault that the city is in the state it's in... What about the fact that the previous council sold Hemet out for Section 8 government money and moved in every other surrounding cities non-tax paying trash... Lets vote in people to change that come this November

in all actuality ... John petty is to blame. He's been hand feeding council since van Arsdale & Lowe bought Petty homes in east Hemet.

Commonsense rules make you keen to do things in the most organized, efficient and practical way you can manage. It's a good day for making serious decisions, especially if you can discuss them first with people whose opinions you respect. But make sure you've got all the facts before making up your mind.
