I never thought there would be a day when I was scared to go outside try to meet new friends. Everyone in this town is insane! I don't have any friends mainly due to the fact that I stopped talking to the ones that I did know for my own reasons, but it seems like it's too dangerous to try to make new friends. Are all the residents sex offenders, gang bangers, or freakin tweakers? What the hell is going on? The last person that I was introduced to that I thought was really cool, turned out to be a drug addict. I invited them into my house the person robbed me and never saw them again. I have a police scanner and the calls that I hear in this town are absolutely horrifying I would say 85% of them don't make the paper so I just it's scary!

Try meeting people where there is a group. Hiking clubs, biking, or at college classes. Something you like to do and enjoy, with or without a friend. You can never really know somebody, but don't bring them home, till ya got a pretty good idea. Stay safe!

You are absolutely right! I, too, have a police scanner which I sometimes listen to and on repeated occasions I've been absolutely amazed that incidents I heard about on the scanner the previous night were mentioned nowhere in, for example, the Press-Enterprise newspaper or anywhere online. I'm talking major incidents such as police closing down major local Hemet streets while chasing crazy drivers all over town who ultimately crash, or large groups of "black youths" marauding through the city. NO MENTION in the local newspaper (The Press-Enterprise) of these incidents, and so many others, which most residents obviously would want to know about. I have to seriously suspect that the powers-that-be (police brass + local media) may be intentionally withholding knowledge of these incidents from the residents of Hemet; why they are doing so is the question.
I surely wish that someone would start up a local "crimee blotter" type publication to keep Hemet's law-abding, tax-paying residents up-to-speed on the goings-on in their town that are now, seemingly, being hidden from their view.

Thank you Badderfish. I just hate having to tell my kids when they come back today from their dad's, that their bikes were stolen right out of our yard, with our gate locked.:( I hope that whoever has them, gets what is coming to them. Who steals kids' bikes?????? Ugh, I swear, people sicken me. Also, I would love to know that whoever the helo was searching for, they found.

That sucks. I park my car in the garage thank goodness. I am so frustrated about the kids' bikes, I can't imagine having to deal with that ish too. :( I moved to SJ to get away from a crazy ex and get the kids safer, I didn't realize I would be welcoming thoughtless assholes in my backyard by having the kids keep their bikes there. Those people had balls too, considering we have 4 dogs, 3 of which are large dogs. Thank you for the advice Chris

Thank you so much for all the input and help.:( I really just wish I could find the asses who stole my kids' bikes. Who does that??? It's not like I wipe my ass with benjamins, being a single mother of two, replacing that is difficult, and the more I think about it, the more pissed I become. No wonder there are vigilantes out there.

Sweet Jesus! There's sex offenders all around us. I had checked Meagans Law before but I guess I hadn't in awhile. Thanks for posting that site--appreciate it.
