Two and one half cheers for Long Beach Councilman Gerrie Schipske! Studies have shown that "reusable" grocery bags that are used by trendy "upscale" Long Beachers are a source for spreading dangerous E.Coli and other bacteria which cause serious illness and infection.

Despite the fact that local unionized grocery stores endanger food shoppers with grocery cart "child seats" that are a primary source for the spreading of fecal matter contamination, revolutionary Council voted to criminalize competitive minded non-unionized grocers who provide "safe and healthy" plastic grocery bags to their customers. Gerrie (a professional health care worker) voted against such criminalization.

Scientific health studies that have been conducted in more health minded cities. Those studies warn against the use of dangerous filthy disease spreading porous "reusable" grocery bags. Although Gerrie now believes the use of hard earned taxpayer money should be used to "educate" trendy users of reusable grocery bags - good luck to that - she should be commended by all health loving Long Beachers.
