You're all idiots and whoever started this forum is an idiot. Take some time to read the California Penal Code and the Education Code. Policing an incorporated city isn't the function of a community college PD. Yet, the officers do have full-time peace officer powers while enforcing laws on campus under current law.

Calif. Education Code section 72330 states that a community college district may employ personnel as necessary to enforce the law on or near the campus of the community college and on or near other grounds or properties owned, operated, controlled, or administered by the community college.

Most campus cops either can't get hired by a real police or sheriff's department, or they tried and couldn't hack it out on the streets. So they hire on at a school and pretend to be a "real" cop. A campus PD doesn't have the resources or personnel to police a city.

Grow up people!!

Laughing...that is not very nice. There are some very capable cops that work for school police agencies. Working for these agencies have perks, like free or discounted tuition, which is great for them to further their education.

How about contracting with Hemet PD? I hear that they could use the revenue!

Soon enough Menifee will be the city in the South-West County of Riverside, surpassing the city of Temecula in population; MSJC police is a nice though, but we will need something more permanent and more solid - 48 square miles is quiet an area to cover for a small police department.

Hell NO! That's a terrible idea! All the MSJC Police are corrupted! Why do you think they got rid of them at the first opportunity. They're all bad.

They were only allowed to patrol in a one mile radius around the college, and you can bet your last dollar, they would stop you before you got out of that one mile radius.

Most of the time, they impounded your car so they can get more fee's. Leave the MJSC Police alone! Let them stay gone, and just simply hire some REAL COPS!

NOT NO FAKE ASS COLLEGE COPS! They're one step up from a rent-a-cop anyway...

Too late, no one was willing to listen to reason, and the council is blowing our hard earned tax dollars. The Sheriff's dept. has been over-saturating Menifee with patrol cars as an obvious show of presence, but we all know that will be temporary as budget cuts and departmental downsizing will spell less enforcement in the near future. Nice try Sheriff Sniff, but the graffiti problem all over Menifee's residential and school properties was something you forgot to address. We're not stupid sir.

No reaction from the sheriff because in San Jacinto, RSO depended on the Mickey Mouse police to do their dirty work like stop and impound vehicles.

You know, birds of a feather...

At this point I think that it is safe to say that this was a very bad idea. Segawa and his fat buddy Medina are in a sinking pit.

Segawa is making 103k and Medina is at about 28hr.. Both are being paid by the college administration.

With the 8 felony charges and 1 misd. filed against Segawa, and his recent arrest, We have to believe that he will not be paid for much longer.

BTW: no wonder why MSJC raised their costs to attend the college.
MSJC should stop their paychecks ASAP.
