Judge overturns California's ban on same-sex marriage

A federal judge in California has knocked down the state's voter-approved ban on same-sex marriage, ruling Wednesday that the state's controversial Proposition 8 violates the U.S. Constitution.

My response was well thought out and logical. You asked why heterosexual people should support gay marriage. I responded. Then you asked why I don't support other forms of "marriage equality", such as polygamy and incest. And I told you very clearly that I HAVE supported other types of marriage equality; namely heterosexual marriage.
Irrational and ignorant as usual.
veryvermilion wrote:

I will not support polygamy nor will I support incestuous marriages.
OK, I won't support SSM any more than. Deal?
veryvermilion wrote:

These types of marriages are fraught with abuse and other damaging dynamics--enmeshment, jealousy, poor boundary divisions, abuse (physical and sexual, esp. in incestuous marriages), etc.
Bigot.
veryvermilion wrote:

I fully realize that these types of problems can occur within traditional heterosexual marriages. However, we have methods in place to deal with them.
Yeah, so it's OK so long as it is only happening in heterosexual or homosexual relationships?

Like I said- irrational and ignorant.
veryvermilion wrote:

We do not have processes in place to deal with the issues that a child would experience should he or she feel neglected by a parent who has not only multiple spouses, but also has multiple families.
So because YOU think it's an issue, it must be one? How about the child who feels neglected by their mother because they don't have one in a same-sex male relationship?

Again- irrational and ignorant.
veryvermilion wrote:
<quoted text>
We are not prepared to deal with a young woman who has been sexually abused and impregnated by her father--a man who now wishes to marry his her.
Procreation has nothing to do with marriage, remember?
veryvermilion wrote:
<quoted text>
If incestuous relationships become acceptable, this young woman would have little recourse in her attempts to refuse her father's attempts to forcibly marry her.
Really? Now allowing something means you can be forced into it?

Interesting. How many males or females will be forced into same-sex marriages once it is legalized?

Again- irrational and illogical.
veryvermilion wrote:

These are only a couple of many, many examples of the issues that plague polygamy and incest.
Not really issues at all, much like you whine about people generalizing the "horrors" that will come from same-sex marriage legalization you have done the same in each of these cases.
veryvermilion wrote:

If others here truly want to support those kinds of marriages, then that's their prerogative. But it's my prerogative to not support them.
I support marriage between two, consenting, unrelated adults.
You confuse "support" with understanding that your "equal rights" argument is invalid when you are willing to invalidate the right's of others just because you don't like it.

Like Kimare, you like dirty talk. Frenching a dog? Where do you people come up with this stuff?

I've seen all kinds of people, gay and straight, who really like their dogs--who'll let them kiss (lick) them on the mouth. I always look at them and think, "You know, that dog was just licking his ass or his nuts."

Is that what you're talking about, ya geezer?

You straight people should hang around more gay people so that you can see that we live the same lifestyles as you; we just happen to be attracted to someone who is the same gender as us. That's the only difference.

If you needed a liver transplant, your body wouldn't know if it came from a gay person. Hell, you probably come into contact with gay people every other day and don't know it.

So what you're essentially saying is that if I support marriage between unrelated, opposite-sex/same-sex, consenting adults, then I have to accept all marriages. Is that right?

Then using that logic, if I support killing someone during war or through the use of capital punishment, then I must also support murder and abortion--all types of killing.

I'm not buying it and neither are you...

Republicans are “in a demographic death spiral” and will fail in their effort to win the presidency in 2016 if the party blocks an immigration overhaul.

Even leading GOP senator are saying Sunday June 16, 2013. and just who would help them out the most? Racists just like the GOP, RNC and Tea Party hater's..

Maybe some SkinHeads cousins in a overseas goo-log might apply.

Classic.

You admit gay sex is more like a dog compared to the vast majority of heterosexual sexual activity, and then call it 'dirty talk' when it gets exposed.

Your denial would be funny if it wasn't so extreme.

That is what they so desperately want you to think, that is the line they have been failing at pushing for months now.

If that is all they have, no wonder they are losing so badly in state after state.

As a side note, read this article this morning, this is one reason why the DOMA ruling is so important, I realize peoples eyes are mostly on Prop 8, but the DOMA ruling is actually a bigger deal.

Prop 8 is doomed no matter what the Supreme Court does, as in the next ballot cycle it is toast if not already overturned.

But DOMA is different, section 3 of DOMA must be struck down

This story is a disgrace in the land of the free.

There are many reasons for the decline of religion in the USA your hate is irrelevant.

As far as the decline in America, most of South America is catholic and holding fairly steady.
