Also, would you care to back up your "hundreds of thousands of years of tortuous evolution" comment?

Now that was witty. I don't care who you are.

I live next door to a gay couple and they are excellent neighbors, just way too anal. God forbid my gardener blows a leaf into their yard! We have BBQs and they tell me gay jokes. They already heard all mine.

Here's a good one-

See, some things don't need a good argument.
Some people just happen to like toast. Others happen to stained glass. And still others really enjoy Corvettes.
Toast is quite popular, so are stained glass and corvettes........although I don't see the conection to SSM.
And we have these things, simply because some people wanted them to exist.
We want to be married. That's reason enough. We don't have to prove anything to you. We owe you no explanation.
Not quite....you want the state to declare a same sex relationship marriage. As an individual you can legally marry. No one is stopping you from standing with another man, on front of a rabbi, minister, priest, priestess, etc., and get married.
Simply because u want to, is not reason enough. If it were, anyone could get married legally, regardless of any state requirements, or prohibitions.

I find it difficult to see the logic of defending monogamous marriage as the historic norm when the laws of many states have already departed from the principle that it is heterosexual, monogamous marriage that is essential to social stability.
Put bluntly, if heterosexuality is no longer legally, morally or socially relevant to marriage, why should monogamy continue to be so important?
Bingo.

Well, love, if you can't take it, you shouldn't dish it out.
As much as I despise anti-homosexual rhetoric, I'm still fascinated by people who spew it.
Where did they learn it? Why are they so vehement over something that just doesn't matter that much?
Straight people don't have to deal with gay issues. It's kind of like repeatedly listening to a talk show host who you despise and complaining over and over and over about how much you hate him or her.
If you don't like the channel, for God's sake, turn to another station.
If you don't want to have anything to do with gays and lesbians, stay out of our affairs--keep your distance.
Why do you make our lives your business? Why do you rail against the LGBT Community, while you continue to chase us?
Seem like you'd just give up and go home--keep your distance--have nothing to do with us.
But here you are--you and others--night after night, making the same tired, old comments, day in and day out.
We get it... You don't like us. Now put a period at the end of this chapter and move on with your lives.
Oh stop your gay twirl whining.

1. Most straights have no problem with your sexual defect.

2. What they do have a problem with is the demand to equate a mutually sterile duplicated half with marriage.

At the expense of children.

If you can't stand the reality, go back to your costumes Queen of DeNial.

But you have been a pastor; so you can't be judgmental.
Yet you are both of these things.
Such a paradox...
My guess is that you're a judgmental person, who pretends to be a pastor.
Yeah... That's it...
Of course there are judgmental pastors.

Christians are called to judge numerous issues.

Your very premise is false.

I'm surprised.

The last comment was mocking, the rest was judging.

I don't like football. I could count on my hands the number of times I've been to a football game.
I don't care for charismatic, snake-handling churches. I've never been to one.
I don't like deer hunting. I've never been deer hunting in my life.
Are you beginning to see a trend here?
See, normal people who don't want to be exposed to certain things have the ability avoid being a part of them.
But you keep yammering on about how we shove things down your throats (you wish).
Be a grown-up. Either avoid those things that you don't want to be exposed to or stop whining. It's pretty simple.
I'd guess he was trying to understand your claim that ss couples are the same as marriage.

The reality is, we are not interested in that kind of behavior, and we certainly wouldn't take our children.

See the difference?

Sounds like what you say about pretty much everyone who doesn't agree with your dogma, including well regarded academics and scientists.
How is living life with blinders?
There are certain beliefs that we all have--dogmas, as you refer to them.

You believe that these dogmas are blinders--that they only allow us to see things in a specific way.

I would agree with you up to a point.

I know that I am pretty open minded. I am openly accepting of many different kinds of people and their ideas. I am not threatened by differing views.

However, when your dogma includes a belief that a small, but key aspect of my character (i.e.: homosexuality) is a sin or a sign of brokenness; that it is unnatural and an abomination, then I will not entertain these beliefs as rational or scientifically based.

There is a limit to being open minded. That's human nature.

For example, I am not open minded about walking into a cage with a lion. I'm no t open minded about handling snakes. I'm not open minded about drinking poisons.

And I'm certainly not open minded about anyone's assertion that being gay is unnatural.

Your guess would be wrong. His comments had nothing to do with same-sex marriage. They had to do with his ridiculous assumption that the LGBT community "corrupts" children. They had to do with his, personal repulsion to gay-themed events.

You guys complain about these events and ideas, but they are easily avoidable.

Shut up your whining about them, stop watching them; stop making them a part of your lives, and you won't have to worry about being offended.

Not since the holocaust have we seen children used so sinisterly. You throw them under the bus so often, they might as well be referred to as your own, personal speed-bumps.

Children are not damaged by LGBT issues.

Stop abusing children with your twisted ideas and beliefs.

In this country we are free to pursue our desires as long as do not break any laws. It isn't against the law to be homosexual. It isn't against the law to engage in homosexual activity. It isn't against the law to pair up with someone of the same gender.

The only law that we are attempting to break, is one that we believe is unjustifiable. We believe it prohibits us from enjoying certain rights and protections that other straight couples enjoy by way of marriage.

We have a right to question that law--to put it before the court and citizens of the country. And that's what we're doing.

If we don't like the answer we get, then we are free to continue to fight for these rights and protections.

We believe that we have a legitimate argument--many heterosexuals agree with us.

As I've said many times before, it's only a matter of time.

You cannot legally stand in our way. You cannot keep us from pursuing what we believe we should have.

You have the right to complain and cry all you want. But we all know where that gets you--nowhere.

It is funny, I would let my children be around gay people, but would never let them be around you.

I wouldn’t want them subverted by your ignorance

I don’t mind gay people adopting, but you should not be allowed to
