SundayĎs Press Enterprise article about VAGRANCY (HOMELESS) in the City of Hemet!
Letís see the citizens of Hemet that pay taxes canít enjoy their Parks because its full of HOMELESS (vagrants) that donít have a job, didnít even live in Hemet but were sent here from other towns. Moved here because of family that said they would help out then dumped them or were staying at shelters but wouldnít live by their rules so they were told to leave. Now they thing that its ok to camp out in our Parks put up their tents make shift shelters and take over Parks without any recourse! Mr. Lineberger is in support of removing (cleaning) up our once beautiful town. If these so called good people that keep feeding these same people at our parks, clothing them would QUIT just maybe this city would have a chance at removing these VAGRANTS once and for all! He states that they have the same RIGHTS under federal law, just like the citizens of Hemet do! So what RIGHTS do WE the CITIZENS of Hemet have? WE canít use our Parke because they are over run VAGRANTS! What do they contribute to this VALLEY? Letís see they use our Parks as camp grounds, public restrooms , have sex out in the open, sell drugs and do drugs, scare of familyís that try to use our Parks! He also states that they have the right to be in the Parks between sunup and sun down, and then I would suggest that Mr. Lineberger go out every night and pick-up these people that have more rights then fellow CITIZENS and take them to his home to sleep! These VAGRANTS (homeless) some are sincere others are just out for the hand out, they donít want your help!
Start a task force letís get in touch with our County Supervisor Jeff Stone and get him to take them all back , he sent them here with money in their pocket told them there was shelters here when there wasnít. Now that everybody is so willing to rent out there homes to section 8ís to make a buck.
Are there any answers out there to this problem?? Lets here them tell your COUNCIL MEMBERS you County Supervisor. Me personally Iím tired of the mess!

What a pathetically sad post, Makes me want to bring turkey dinners to the parks to help these people out.Whats more sad is a good percentage are Vietnam vets whose country turned their backs on the help THEY REALLY NEED, When they served this country for the very freedoms, They are denied.

Chris... Which parks do the majority of these vets hang out in? I cant afford a turkey dinner, but can make some P,B, and J sandwiches for them a couple times a week. Thanks fior making me aware of the situation, and thanks from my brothers in arms for standing up for them.

All the people you see on the street and hanging out in the park are not homeless. Some have homes and a nice warm bed to sleep in.
But they want to hang out with their buddies to drank, smoke and get high.
They panhandle and spend their welfare money to get their drugs and booze.
They donít want to work or have any commitments. They are free loaders being supported by the tax payers. There are a few who are actually homeless but they donít want a job or anything to answer to. They panhandle to get their dope and booze. There are places to go for help but they donít want to go by the rules.
Our American Veterans can find help. Some are mentally unstable and need medication to function in our society.
But there is help out there. There is help for everyone who really wants it.
But there are rules and requirements attached to that help.
But people have learned how the system works and prefer to panhandle and prey on innocent strangers who eagerly hand out money to them.

There is five that I know of years ago I blew a motor in my truck, And road the bus for a week while my truck was in the shop, Got to talk to a couple of them The two I talked to either stay, behind stater bros on sanderson or out in valle vista under the aqueduct. Ones real tall named don, talks with a high screwed up voice, from agent orange He was telling me how he was jumped by six teenage punks and got the crap beat out of him because he talked funny,Made me sick to my stomach.I Appreciate the Sacrifices These men made for our freedom.

True but the older ones that are real skiddish around people,Are war veterans. There's one guy I tried to talk to but when i got close he ran and hid behind the bushes (By Staters on sanderson) Just got out of steer n stein and was going to offer to buy him a burger,This Is a result of how the public treats them, Without realizing all the HELL They have been through

Bum hunter... You show no class. Our returning vets deserve respect and understanding. Most of us came back semi ok, but many came back screwed up. They deserve more than your bull shit. You're probably a bible thumping, gun loving, war monger, that never served our country. You're a true waste of skin.

Homelessness is sad whether your a vet or other,But Like you said Its the other bastards that make these true defenders of our freedom's Look bad, What we really need Is A government that takes care of ALL The physical AND Psychological needs (but that's a whole different story).

NO the actual problem is THAT the State and Govt. to which these veterans live in have turned their backs . I have talked to these VETS over the years. They and their families have tried to seek help for them only to be told for what ever reason your not qualified or we do not have the recourses to help you.

Imagine being brought up in a home where your parents were poor, and to help out your parents you join the military. Only to be injured so badly mentally or physically ... you come home and who can help you? Not your family, not the Govt. They patch you up the best they can ... not the state, cause your qualified...so not to be a burden on your family, you become homeless.

All this is sad but true ...so IF you going to jump some one a$$ to care for these people who served our country, WRITE your GOVT. Hell write the President, tell him forget his Obamacare and take care of these homeless men and woman, who served our country, who need to be counted, need to be helped.

Sec8 my a$$ give a qualified VET a chance, give him shelter of Sec 8 house, give him a job, help them lift themselves up.

I do have John, and when you see all these special groups out there such as Wounded Warriors , makes you realize that WE Americans are willing to send our sons and daughters to fight for our country, BUT our country is NOT willing to take care of OUR sons and daughters when they are injured. So instead of the Govt taking care of them WE the people have to.

SO what IF we have become a dumping station , it does not matter HOW the VETS get here. Let's US in this Valley BE bigger than the rest of the nation ...lets reach out and help. DR.s Dentist, OFFER free services for these homeless VETS. BIG chain drug stores, IF a VET has a card (all do) give them free medicine. Housing, come on it can't be to hard to give a VET free housing for a year. Tax deductible on your part, and your helping a VET get back on their feet. SO many people in this Valley, it does not matter if your rich or poor, YOU can help...even if it is writing a letter telling our Govt, to get off their butts and TAKE care of the VET!!

Pretty Poison... Its our govt. that is all too happy to send our sons and daughters off to fight for OTHER countries. When our soldiers returned from Viet Nam they were spat upon and shunned by some of our citizens. Our returning vets returned from the gulf wars they were ignored by our govt and many citizens.
The problem as I see it, is that the govt just diesnt care about them, most drs and dentists see no profit in treating them, andmost citizens are too busy trying to make it in todays economy to think about our wounded warriors.
WW2 vets actually fought for OUR country and were gteeted and treated like heros. People dont seem to care about the oter bullshit wars that we were in, and our vets are forgotten or ignored
