Dont Run Paranormal

Hemet, CA

#63 Jun 19, 2012
We are a group of paranormal investigators that investigate these very things. Stories like these really get my attention. I have a researcher that knows a lot of people in this valley and can find out just about anything I need to know about a property or a person. We also work with a very intuitive person that gives a lot of insight on or around haunted locations. We do private investigations with no charge. Lets us know if we can help in any way. Find us on facebook.

I ran onto this forum a few days ago and I see that someone brought up the tales of the under ground tunnels beneath Hemet. I was told several years ago by my Father of these tunnels and the stories he told were exciting and actual.
Yes, there needs to be an investigation done on these tunnels and I am sure there are people still lving today that could offer a lot of details.

Is there an entrance to the tunnels from the riverbed? Where is this? I am very interested in urban exploration, but I would not go to these tunnels alone.

Ummm...why would a paranormal group be involved? Other than the use of their equipment, are these tunnels assumed haunted? I've been an a few explorations where for some reason a 'psychic ' was involved. She blurted out all types of comments about a particular building, which was all false and irrelevant, and turned our trip into some freak show.

Please update us on these tunnels.

I don't believe there are any underground tunnels, per se. Some of those stores had their deliveries made at the sidewalk level and big iron doors were across the sidewalk. These would open up so the stuff could be put in their basements. Gibbel's Hardware,(N/E corner of Florida & State)had a basement. The 5 & 10,(Strawberry B) still has the basement. Farmer's & Merchant Bank (Photo Store)I don't know about. BJ's (YellowMart, Jim Cain Sporting Good Store.) Where the "new" P.O. is, I don't know about. The original P.O. was on Kimball. I don't recall what was on that property before the new P.O. was built--McIntyre leased that property to build the new P.O., I think on a 99 year lease. McIntyre had a farm on Stetson.
Everett Cain is still alive. The volunteers are very knowledgeable at the Train Station. Have fun and keep us posted?
As a side note, Gibbel's kept their explosives just past the DMV on State St., you will see a little knoll. In the side of that dirt mound is where they kept it.

I talked to an employee today at sharkey's pizza which used to be the old gibell's hardware store, and he told me that there is a basement that goes down to the tunnels, but they built a brick wall in front of the entrance to the tunnel.

Here is also a little known fact. Did you all know there is a shooting range under Bj's Sporting Goods Store? They no longer use it, but it was built for the peace officers to use back in the 40's and 50's.
But before that, I am sure it was used for something else.
I remember it when I was a kid and it was on the Main Floor I think it is the office now. Maybe there was one downstairs also.

This is true. There are in fact tunnels. Don't understand why this is so hard to believe for everyone? My brother (50yrs) just told me that my uncle who worked on the building in the 80's when it was the Nite club Silver Fox told him that there was a brick wall built over the tunnel. He went on to explain and confirm everything on here...The bank...the hardware store...the whole bit. Was told to him by grandparents and old timers. The tunnels are real! Lol.

If anyone would like to get together to explore this email me @ Majinkain@gmail.com, I explored amansion in Pittsburgh that used to be part of the underground railroad in Feburary before moving here to Hemet at the end of the month. I took 76 pictures and captured some paranormal things in
them. If you would like to see the pictures, email me a request. I dont want to say the name of the place here because its condemned and I technically wasnt supposed to be in there. But this sort of thing is intriguing to me. The unknown, unexplained, paranormal, and or historical. Currently I live 4 blocks from Florida Ave. So if anyones up for a little exploration/documentation, let me know. Happy hunting.

this blows!!! what is wrong with us all. we RUN this town.city.county.state.country . we are in such denial! that we cant DO SOMETHING ANYTHING! we want. if we arent harming anyone or have ill intentions and have no problem being escorted. what. the. fuck. is the hold up. i get really excited about stuff like this and then really frustrated bc i have no ambition or belief in myself that my words could change anyones mind. im frustrated bc at times i feel like im not speaking up or lashing out or just talking common sense to people. no one believes in them selves. whats the point in expression. its like whining. and boring. relative. whatever

Can anyone tell me how many banks there are just on Florida Ave alone? I have tried to find out through different resources but no direct answers.

I truly enjoy reading about the history of Hemet. Especially from those who can tell us things that are not really known to everyone, such as the tunnels and the several banks along Florida Avenue.
I happen to be the forth generation of a large family that originally came from Cuba.
When I was small boy, my seven brothers and I would listen to stories that our G Grandfather would tell. He told us about how he and his cousin robbed banks and fancy Hotels but never hurt anyone. He told us about some gold coins they had buried after one of their robberies. But because they were so drunk, they couldnít remember its location. As the years went by we collected more information about the gold coins and we think they would be worth almost a million dollars in todayís market value. He said that he always felt that the location of the buried loot was in one of the tunnels that run across Florida Avenue. And from the information we gathered from him, we believed that the location is somewhere under where the hardware store use to be on Florida ave. We also, believe that a secret entrance to a tunnel that connects to other tunnels is actually in the basement of that building.
But now we will never know because that hardware store closed. It would be great if we could hear from others who might know more about this.
Are you for real????
