We used John for pool service for years. For health reasons, had to let the pool maintenance lapse for a couple months. After the pool turned slightly green, John came back to start service again, handed me an estimate saying he would not TOUCH the pool again until we had him install a $1500 pump, drained the pool $350 in labor, and rewired the whole system $200!!!!
We decided to get a second and third opinion. GUESS WHAT??? Pool pump is fine, no need to drain the water, and to get it from green to clean it would only be $400 total!!!!
The Environmental Protection Agency showed up today due to a complaint for mosquitoes in our pool. When they got here, all they found was a nice blue pool. The EPA guy said he gets so irritated by disgruntled ex-pool guys doing this to their customers!

Thanks, John, for being so TWO-FACED and calling this agency when we didn't cough up your $2000 you were trying to CON us out of.

So the moral of the story is, DO NOT CALL JOHN BETTENCOURT FOR ANY ESTIMATE, UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET AGENCIES ON YOUR BACK WHEN YOU DON'T PAY HIS OUTLANDISH PRICES!!!

The good-guy image is a wolf in sheep's clothing!!! Shame on you SON, the lord is displeased with your act of cruelty.

You could have fixed that problem yourself for about 1/3 of what you paid, If your pump is not returning bubbles back into the pool then your pump is fine,(If It Is Probably only a pump seal 12-15 bucks, and about 10 min labor?) I use 1LBS per 10,000 gallons of water if it's so green that there would be mosquito's?.And run the pump 24-7 cleaning filter frequently until water clears then check Alkalinity level ph level and then the chlorine level In that order, because in order for chlorine to work properly your alkalinity and ph have to be balanced,And to extend the life of the chlorine you use Cyanuric Acid. And If your STILL Not Sure, Take A water Sample to your nearest Leslies pool supplies, they will tell you how to fix it free(Used to manage a leslies store Years Ago) They have very good water Chemistry training but lousy pay. Good luck in the future
