I've lived in Hemet for the past 22 years and am pretty disgusted with what it has become. Everywhere you go in this city there are, not one, but groups of homeless people and panhandlers loitering in front of some store or cruising the parking lots waiting for hard working citizens to walk by so they can hit you up for money. They lay in wait for you to get out of your car (sometimes they don't even wait) then ask you for "paper" money (apparently change is no longer good enough for them)! I'm sick and tired of having to watch my back every time I get out of my car because I know at some point somebody's gonna hit me up for something. I have to imagine that most hard working people are pretty tired of watching this city turn into a shithole!!!! I don't have the answers but somehow, some way there needs to be enough noise made so that the idiots that have some control over this situation will hear nothing but the constant drone of unhappy voters!! What does it take for our city leaders to wake up and die right?

I know what you mean. It's not only irritating, apparently it can be dangerous. Have you noticed how many parking lots now have security guards? We were at Red Robins a few days ago, and there are even signs posted in the parking lot. I guess you certainly better watch your back!

From now on I'm leaving my purse at home, and taking only my drivers license, debit card and keys. That's it.

My family and a friend recently went to Red Robin on Florida Avenue for dinner. As soon as we stepped out of our car two ragged seeming 1960s hippy throwbacks asked us for money. The drugged-out-looking female then entered the restauarnt directly behind us and stood in the lobby for minutes and NO ONE in the restaurant took notice or said anything to her until I spoke with an employee and related to her how they'd followed us from the parking lot and then the woman followed us inside.

The waitress said she'd tell the manager, so I guess eventually he asked the woman to leave.

However, I noticed that after we sat down and were eventually served the manager very pointedly (to me) greeted the diners at every other table but not ours.

Oh, this, too: one of the busboys spilled water on the hair and back
of my daughter's friend while we were eating.

If Red Robin doesn't give a damn about creepy, scraggly panhandlers who follow its patrons INTO the restaurant, but hires clumsy employees who literally spill dirty water on people while they're eating then, I have decided, Red Robin does not need our business.

NEXT TIME: Stand up to your full stature and BE READY knock the beggar out!- He/she may become vocal, but will back off. You have the LEGAL right to defend your personal space out to your reach. You also have the right to defend your family. If the person comes within your reach and you feel physically threatened, YOU CAN HIT THEM.

If you violate someone's personal space in a threatening manner, use threatening language and/or attempt an assault, you may have picked on the one who puts you in jail by way of the hospital. And the police will wait outside your hospital room until you're well enough to be transported.
