Hemet is a disgusting, drug infested, full of crime, scientology filled city and has been for a long time. The police barely scrape the top of the crime. The city allows cults to run rampant without any repercussions as well as meth labs. Thank goodness it's out in the middle of nowhere away from the rest of the world. For sure, the worst city to live in California.

You know what I hate about this town is that there is so much trash breeding and making more generations of trash. Like women who run out on their kids to be with some loser and use drugs until they get pregnant again and they smoke crack or speed throughout their whole pregnancy then call cos on themselves so their ex feels sorry for them then the ex is so stupid he blames the only good woman he has ever had helps the drug addict run from the cops case she gave her self bit not before calling cops on dour other women. I can't believe the people in this town. I grew up here and I want my kids to grow up here so I guess this is the carp I'm stuck seeing on daily basis. Good old Jerry Springer.

Wrong.......All have faired better in this last recession than Hemet.
Both Perris and Moreno Valley have secured enormous amounts of tax revenue by securing business rather than residents. Hemet "used" to have their noses up at the surrounding cities. But, not anymore. Seems, all their sht flows and whirlpools in this stagnant valley.

I can't argue with mead Valley tho. whew......

True on the business aspect, mo-val and perris has made some improvements,But Those jobs were filled by commuters,Man there are some areas of mo-val that are, down right depressing,(like old town (by the old 215,march afb area, where the old riverside raceway used to be)Let's face it securing enormous amounts of tax revenue, benefit's the counsel members, and politicians,Rather than the community, hemet has been in the dark ages on the business aspect for a whole lot of years. But like one poster said "San Bernardino" I think is winning the race to the bottom.

And the "Cult" as you call them are in San Jacinto. Have you seen San Bernardino? Fontana? Rialto? Banning? There is nothing wrong with Hemet except people like you sit at home on your SSI and bitch and moan. Get a job, volunteer, do something productive. Get a life!

If you look at the stats there are no meth labs last year in Hemet. There are some in the county area around it, but not in the City.

That is a HEMET problem? Have you been anywhere else but Hemet? After years in the Navy and traveling all over the world I can tell you that this idea that this happens only in Hemet is ridiculous. Now if you are just spouting off for the sake of how many replies you will get?, Well then, good show!

The concern is not that Hemet is the "worst city in California". Certainly it is not as bad as Compton or Mead Valley. The problem is that it is simply a far cry from what it once was.
It serves no purpose though, to say "well its not as bad as Moreno Valley or National City". So its not the "worst". it still has become quite the cesspool compared to its former state. As a lifetime valley resident, I have observed the downward spiral since 2008. Should it continue, Hemet very well may eventually capture the title.
The city has failed to attract business. There is some new building being planned though, I hear there's a new apartment complex going up on Girard..Thank Jeff Stone and his infinite wisdom.
I hear Temecula is doing fairly well

I agree.
The problem is that it's concentrated more so than other cities. There's no good areas to walk and shop. A good example would be for anyone that disagrees to just start taking walks from say...San Jacinto St. to Palm ave. along Florida ave. Hit some of the nice shopping along the way. Or, detour to Devonshire ave. and follow that route.
If I'm wrong post up some areas in Hemet that you and your family wouldn't mind spending a Friday evening strolling, shopping, eating, or just enjoying this great small town.
If we can't have industrial than the only thing left is to develop a retail forum. Like Palm Springs.

I live in Hemet, going on 3 years now. Not because I wanted to, but out of necisity. I was a homeowner in French Valley, and then after that, I rented for 8 years there. In 2012, My son died, my adult daughter and I were his caregivers, I being a nurse, found this sutiable for I had become disabled after a drunk driver in Murrieta put me in a wheelchair. I soon found out how hard it is for a wheelchair bound person to get work. I ended up getting food stamps and the church had to help me too. Hemet was very affordable. We moved there, into a 2 bedroom, renavated apt. On what was formerly known as Timothy lane. We did not know of its past history prior to renavation, but made friends with the young families around us. My daughter started tutoring kids, and started back to college, joined rebuild Hemet to find out the scoop of the community, and I got my SSI, after years of trying to get it. I enrolled in college, going back after 30 years. Our little community where I live, we help and watch out for each other, while evil lurks its nasty head at us from time to time, yes there are gang problems, yes, there are alot of drug problems in this town, but surround yourself with good people, locals that have been here a long time, church going folks, etc. Local democrats or republicans have offices here. Theres a restored theatre, art centers and antique stores. I like it here, I do crafts and gardening, lots of folks here do that stuff too. I just turned 55, and can move into a Sr. Community now. I am keeping my options open, but plan to stay in Hemet. Temecula was everyone trying to keep up with the Jones's, here I live more free of those stresses. I am hoping my garden will encourage my neighbors to grow one too.
