I read an article in the Helotes paper about how the Hwy 16 Diner was like Tip Top. Our family decided to try it hoping that was so. It was not. We ordered the onion rings and they came out in burnt strings. There might have been 10 strings. We were shocked that they would even serve them. Three of us ordered the chicken fried steak - they taste was okay but again half of the steak's breading was burnt. One had a hamburger and said it was okay. The other person order catfish and also said it was okay. None of the meals or prices would give us a reason to return. Please give us a real Tip Top and don't compare yourself to them until you can get it right.

Tip Top on Fredricksburg Rd. rules! They have the best homestyle food in the galaxy. I always eat there when I'm in the area. Helotes wantabe Tip Top probibly serves canine meat in their chicken fried steak and fried lizard innerds for the onion rings...if you don't know how to get to the real Tip Top, just catch a AAA cab, they'll take you there with no problem.

If your ever in San Antonio Tx and want to experience fine dinning at great prices try LOS PATIOS restaurant. I have been to hundreds of restaurants and this one is by far the best. They are located at 2015 ne loop 410 , 410 and starcrest. With lunch from 11-230 and cute little shops by the restaurant. The scenery is absolutly beautiful. The srvice is amazing. You will not be dissapointed. check out the website www.lospatios.com

The food at Taco Cabana is a 100% better. You pay high prices for low grade food. Los Patios ought to be called Los Basuda! Cause the food is trash! The rats by the river won't eat the food there.

I've got a life, seems your jealous about mine. Get over it, you'll find someone who will feel sorry for you and agree with your snide remarks about those whose opinions differ with yours.

DON'T make me turn this car around, kids! I'm a menstrual mothafucka and I have no problem twisting your lil heads off and taking a warm shower in your blood. So chill da fuck out!
Ok, everybody knows that Las Palapas (or Papa-lapas, as my kids call it), The Mexican Manhattan and Ruthies are da shit when it comes to comida Mexicana! There's also a place in helotes, TX that's pretty good as well; it's called El Chaparral. For the bestest tortillas Ruthies is the one that comes to my mind first and foremost!
You know after reading what the 2 previous bubbleheads were arguing over, it made me realize how passionate people are about their food and how some will get some major sand in their vaginae when they feel someone's threatening it. We can't help if "Joe" was raised on food that was real similar to trash and now he equates that to what good food is; he's allowed to have and voice his opinion. Fortunately, I was able to distinguish what was good and what wasn't. Sorry, Mom, thanks for feeding me, clothing me and loving me, but Hell's Bells, woman, what ever possessed you to think that you knew how to cook?! Lol! Just kidding, Mom![I'm not, it really blew!] Love ya!
So for my 2ยข it's gotta be El Chaparral, Las Palapas, the Mexican Manhattan and Ruthies. That doesn't mean that everybody else is bad; these are just the places that I've been to and that stick out in my memory. Happy hunting!
