Plain and simple, the Governor's budget proposal fails to address the real issues that inflate the state budget, and instead, are intended to make the highway robbery toll plan he wants to enact seem like a walk in the park.

The Governors budget does nothing to relieve the burden on New Jersey taxpayers, and instead, creates the reality that local property taxes will drastically increase.

The Governor is in effect blackmailing New Jersey residents, and potentially destroying trade and tourism in the state with his toll proposal.

Instead of addressing the real root causes that contribute to the inflated state budget, Corzine has deliberately structured his budget proposal to force the legislature and tax payers into going along with his shortsighted toll plan.

The Governor is so dedicated to seeing this plan imposed that he has:

a) Created an advisory board stacked with members of those special interest groups that will profit directly from the plans enactment.
b) Prevented those that will be most severely impacted; motorists, tourism boards and commerce groups from having any meaningful representation on that advisory board by exclusion.
c) Has personally contributed half a million dollars of his personal wealth to fund an non government organization intended to shine his plan up and publicly praise it despite its obvious flaws.

The governor has called for voter approval for all future state borrowing, but declines to allow voters to have the right of due process on this plan.

The governor has called for an end to gimmicks and borrowing, yet his toll plan is nothing more than another gimmick which he promised to end if elected.

While New Jersey faces a severe budget shortfall, the Governor runs off every few days to campaign for a presidential candidate and ignores the severity of the problems faced here at home.

New Jersey residents should be screaming for a recall of this governor and his failed policies.
