Bottom line is you have to want to be clean and get help. Not everybody at the Clinic is there for themselves. They are there for family members or trying to hold on to relationships, some are trying to do it for their kids. Honest truth is once you become addicted nothing else matters, nothing but the next hit. Not easy to understand unless you've been there or Love someone who has been. This is Why you have to be sick and tired of it all and want it for your own self. It almost never lasts unless it's for you.

The clinic is for making money, bottom line is it is a business. If a person is desperate to get clean it may be a start but not Long term. Something to think about, you get in get started on methadone, dose keeps going up til 60 mg. Finally feeling better, then striving for take homes, it takes two years to get a month of take homes. Someone who's taking home a month is now dependent on Methadone. Clinic is making money hand over fist and you are stuck in that line once a month. If you are one of these people and you are Okay with it That's fine, but if you Could have done it differently, would you?

All I'm as saying is if you can get stable, wise choice is to start dosing down, slowly but surely. Be off methadone and out of the clinic. Life is too short to be wasting away in a line that never seems to end.

Best wishes to all addicts that life gets better with sobriety :)
Yes but, don't go up THAT high on dosage. Im clean for myself...& my family but it was my decision, I've never ever been in trouble with the law, or CPS or whatever others complain about or reasons they're forced to get clean. I work hard, I go to treatment, I go to Group, I respect the workers & counselors there, I go to 2 NA meetings a week on my own, I'm determined.
I also haven't went up that high on dosage. I don't WANT a month of take homes, because I don't wanna be on it that long. It's been 11 months. I've been decreasing my dose every week & will be off of it completely by November. I don't wanna be dependent on it my whole life.

I really wished everyone was using it right.
Congrats to those who ARE having a better life because of the center!

I should be off of it about that same time. I only went up to 50 mg. and now I come down a few one week sometimes every two weeks. I think the place works great if a person uses the tools they offer. Quitting cold turkey would be great for someone that doesn't have a job that can afford to lay in bed everyday for a few weeks while they are withdrawing. I have a damn good job and can't do that so I chose to be medically withdrawn. It's worked amazing so far. I do what I'm supposed to do at the clinic, I am able to maintain my job and not be sick. I am also not thinking about using which is another thing methadone does. It helps a persons brain retrain itself to not want opioids.
I want to wish everyone that is doing the right thing the best of luck. It feels good to be doing the right thing.
would rather see it gone

I go to the clinic & I'm sick and tired of hearing the whiners & crybabies cuz their needs aren't being catered to. They are HUNDREDS, maybe thousands, of patients there because of the pill epidemic, and only a few counselors. But those addicts don't care. They want it their way or no way. B:tch & moan.
And do you know how few actually WORK?? Most have their mommies or daddies pay for their treatment. Get a job! I've got two..you guys can't get one?
Larry Adkins jr.'s daddy has been paying for his methadone for over 2 yrs n lives w his son in his dads house. Worst part is he has a nursing degree, just won't work

I for one thank God for the clinic. My wife and I were addicts for over 10 years. We started the clinic 3 years ago and now own our own home a few vehicles and our kids have everything they want. Congrats to those who are able to stop "cold tukey " but not all of us are so fortunate. There are people from every walk of life there from your normal everyday people to doctors, lawyers, etc. Personally I could care less what other people think of me and my family but I know how its helped not only my wife and I but others we have helped get started there and made a HUGE difference in there life. Besides people on here talking bad about addicts better look around before talking. With the drug epidemic I guarantee there is someone close to you with a problem. Rather its known yet or not that's not the issue, the issue is that its a problem in every family somewhere down the line right now. But if it makes you feel better about yourself to talk bad about others than contests to you

Shut this place down! Don't need to go higher in dose need to lower the dose! What a waste of space ashamed Huntington residents have to look at!

The bad thing is the drug dealers really benefit more from this. They just park outside the door when someone comes out they just sell them more drugs.

Its good to offer the help but they need to want to get help for the help to work.
