Asking for advice on how to handle this.... I have a family member who is not at his best right now and he will be picked up on charges when he is found.(no, I don't condone what happened and yes, he should be held accountable for what he done.) I had a another family member tell me she was worried cause she heard one of the police officers make the statement ''when we find him, by the time we get him to the jail his face will never be the same again''. I was able to catch up with one of the officers who was there and made a point to ask him if he was the one who threatened to beat a handcuffed person who was arrested to the point that his face would never be the same. The officer just smirked and said no, it wasn't him but he did hear that comment made but wasn't sure which officer said it. He went on to inform me that even though he didn't say it, if he was the one to arrest my relative he would do the same thing. I said aren't you here to protect and serve, I didn't know your job description included beating handcuffed prisoners. He just smiled at me and said ''well, if they deserve it'' I leaned around to get his name and badge number and told him when my family member is picked up if something happens to him, I would get a lawyer and I would not leave I alone until something was done about it. This officer was so cocky that he wrote down his info, looked up and and handed it to me with a big grin on his face. He's so confident that him or whoever will get away with it that now I'm worried for the safety of my relative. How do I handle this legally?

The cops was checking some guy out in front of my brothers house, we walked outside to see what was goin on and that cop was cursing my brother, telling my brother he said what did I tell u the next time I saw u, he ssaid I was gonna knock out ur fuckn teeth and beat ur azz..cuz my brother was at the court house and I guess going off and the cop said my brother embarrassed him in front of everyone, so he was waitn to find him again, so he would come by everynite harassing my brother, shining the spotlight thru the house..so the next morning my brother called chief holbrook and made a complaint on the officer, he has not been back by since, but if that dont work call the FEDS out of Virginia....

He probably does have it coming. I have a hard time giving a crap as to what happens to criminals. Perhaps it will teach him a lesson. Probably not though, the average criminal scum is not that intelligent. Break the law, be punished. Cry more...

Regardless of what he done a police officer's job is to uphold the law. I'm pretty sure hpd doesn't pay it's officers to beat and harass citizens as they see fit. I hope you or someone you love never has to deal with a unethical hpd officer. It's a scary situation knowing more than likely they will get away with something like this

My son was pulled over once and the cop dragged him out of the truck, beat him, searched his truck and then let him go because there was nothing to be found. He was 19. It was late at night and happened so fast that my son didn't even know who pulled him over (city, state, or county) and had no idea who the cop was so nothing could be done about it. This happened recently. I don't trust any of them.

The police here work their butts off and have to deal with a lot of bs. They don't run around and beat people and steal from them...if you've had a run in with the police, you were prob. Doing something you shouldn't. I guess some people have an overactive imagination :)

it happens, maybe your underimagining. How are you going to tell someone what did or did not happen on a traffic stop or an encounter with the police.

BS

Even if these cops planned on beating your family member, they wouldn't be stupid enough to blab about it to you.

Him and another person got into it and the cops were called, he left before the cops got there. They only got one side of the story, and the story was exaggerated.(I'm not saying he didn't do wrong)One officer made the statement if they found him they would stop and beat him before they took him to jail in front of another family member. (I was not present at the time) when I arrived I was told about the beating comment. I was able to track down one of the cops that was there. I asked him if he was the one that threatened to beat my brother, he smirked and said no but he heard it, but didn't know which one had said it (even though his mannerisms said different) then he told me that if he was the one to pick him up he would do the same thing. Same as I originally posted. Yes I know his name(and badge#), because the asshole wrote it down for me when he seen me getting ready to. No I will not post it on here because it would be my luck I would somehow get it trouble for posting it. My mother and I have both went to the police station trying to file a complaint and they kept giving us the run around. Then they told us to contact the night time supervisor and gave us a bogus #. After we realized this I tracked down the right one and have called multiple times and left messages. Nobody has returned my calls. Im not really sure what to do now. A friend of mine told me to go to the mayor's office. Not sure if that will help but I'm gonna try and see if that gets me anywhere.

I completely agree. There's a quite a few that I believe are good men and good cops. Then there are cops like this one that make the whole department look bad. Add to the fact that around here they get away with stuff like this ALL the time. So they continue to abuse their power and the law that they at supposed to uphold!!

Daily Horoscope for May 21

Aquarius

There simply aren't enough hours in the day today for you to do everything that's on your list, so concentrate on the priorities. Don't feel guilty about what's been left out and start to worry about it. This isn't an easy day because you're feeling pressured and anxious, so don't expect too much from yourself. There's less energy than usual, which doesn't help.
